I hope that isn't a problem lol Hmmm I find it kinda hard to make recommendations cause the bands I love the most are pretty complex bands where it takes a while to really get into it. But to start off into metalcore for example Killswitch Engage would be the right band to start with imo. Easy to listen to cause they have such great melodies and a singer with a damn good voice. I guess it kinda depends on what kind of metal you're the most interested in | ||

I'll try and avoid bands you've probably already heard of (famous ones, or others from the thread) Strapping Young Lad is monstrous. The music is heavy, fast chaotic and, most importantly to me, catchy. The album City is a crunchy, industrial record. Alien is a crazy chaotic heavy album and the New Black is a fun and catchy record (all metal of course) so I'd suggest them because you like In Flames (they're not that similar really) Pain of Salvation is an awesome Progressive Metal band. Heavy at times and not overly-complex. A lot of people getting daunted by complexity in bands. The lyrics all have a message and are smarter than most band's. I don't like saying that because it's hard to promise but I believe Pain of Salvation have consistant lyrics. Check out Entropia and The Perfect Element pt 1. They do good slow songs. Moonsorrow you may know but goddamn, massive atmosphere and an epic scale. A definite must listen and probably nothing like most music you've heard. Listen to Jumalten Kaupunki on youtube. Try Sonata Arctica's Reckoning Night for some power metal and some more Blind Guardian (tracks: Battlefield, Mirror Mirror) Those are some of my favourite metal bands. I've excluded the bands that people usually recomend first (Dream Theater, Opeth etc) Edit: Don't waste your time with metalcore. I very rarely post opinions like this, but 95% of metalcore is complete shit. | ||

I'm sorry if KSE isn't hardcore enough for you. Maybe it's too melodic and melodies are for pussies? Would you mind telling me which page you posted your fav bands on? just curious and having to go through 9 pages just for that kinda sucks. Oh also dunno if it was mentioned yet but The Fall Of Troy That band is just so much fun.
