Maybe it's too melodic and melodies are for pussies? Would you mind telling me which page you posted your fav bands on? just curious and having to go through 9 pages just for that kinda sucks. Oh also dunno if it was mentioned yet but The Fall Of Troy That band is just so much fun. No point to say what genre they are they are just Fall Of Troy The ending from 3:20 onwards is so awesome Yeah but this thread is full of recommendations. No, that's my point exactly. The bands you post aren't even considered metal...The fall of troy definately falls under hardcore.

If you listen to Slipknot and Disturbed, you are not a metal fan. You're a teenager. If you listen to Dimmu Borgir and Cradle of Filth, you're a trendy goth. If you listen to Burzum and Mayhem, you're probably a neo-nazi. I'm very harshly opinionated about this, by the way ![]() So to make up for it, have some metal:

"Please, no Nu bashing" If you don't want bands like this to be mentioned, go open up your own thread. And omg reading how you say KSE is for pussies in this thread, and say how much you like Lady Gaga in the other, I get the feeling that either you're a huge troll or something is seriously wrong with you On September 16 2009 02:13 tirentu wrote: + Show Spoiler + On September 16 2009 02:00 Ro[]t wrote: And now for some lovely nu-metal \o/ nu-metal != heavy metal People need to figure out these distinctions. I feel sorry for people who for example cling to "real heavy metal bands" only (I'm not saying that's the case with you, just generally) and again an excerpt from the OP: ALL genres welcome from power metal to death metal! Like, I have to practice for 5 months then it since it's a movie it just takes 3 minutes! P.S. looks like a great karaoke gimik as well! hahahaha Btw, this thread has turned really interesting now there is a debate which is bad and which is not. I'm just going for neutral on this since my taste for music stinks.

Anyways, what I meant was Killswitch engage being "pussy" in a metal context while I obviously wasn't judging Lady Gaga from a metal point of view. Would you say Johnny Cash is pussy because he doesn't play metal?

And I'm sure he won't mind if someone mentions a band that is more considered "hardcore" than "metal" I have a very wide opinion regarding what metal is, and it involves (for the most part) heavy use of double bass, distorted guitars, and some form of dramatic or otherwise intense vocals. Slipknot, though I dislike them profusely, are a metal band. Same thing with Cradle of Filth or Disturbed (though I enjoy some Disturbed). Heck, I even classify plenty of modern hardcore and metalcore as metal because of the influence of metal on those genres. Nu-metal, however, doesn't cut it. Musically, the genre is much closer to rock than metal. That is why I exclude it from my definition of metal. Many people are extremely elitist about what exactly is a "heavy metal" band. A certain site whose name escapes me only recently included DevilDriver in their database because their latest album showed sufficient death metal influences to be considered something other than metalcore, which they did not believe to be metal, despite the name. I find that ridiculous. Now, to make up for going on about this topic, MORE METAL!
