I actually like it when other people post obscure little gems...that's how you discover new music. If everyone just posted what everyone else already knows (the well-known, relatively big-name bands), then there'd be no discovery here. ):

It's only elitism when people start trashing music other people have posted and say stuff like, "shame on you all! why hasn't X band been posted yet??"

I love metal.

When this thread was started I KNEW to stay the fuck away from it because it would end up being 15% "this is an awesome song/cd" (helpful) and 85% "this is what I deem metal and here is why what you call metal is base, bad and actually wrong. Blah blah blah [elitism]"

So fucking predictable and bad. TL has the most high-brow metal audience I have ever seen. Get over yourselves.

This isn't fucking kpop where even the fans know it is terrible.

METALCORE FAN SPOTTED, EVERYONE E-LYNCH HIM!!!11

Seeing as how he didn't list any bands himself, I wouldn't doubt it.

It's a joke, I don't care if he likes metalcore, I think he mentioned As Blood Runs Black once, I'm just being facetious with the elitists.

Lies, you would totally love to start a mob.

Elitist metal head present.

This thread is in need of more black metal.

Limbonic Art's Moon in the Scorpio is very keyboard heavy, but the atmosphere is very majestic.

Ulver's Bergtatt is fantastic, folky, and fuckwin.

Deathspell Omega's Si Monumentum Requiris Circumspice is required listening if you want to get elitist points.

Blut Aus Nord's Memoria Vetusta I and Memoria Vetusta II are both worth looking at.

Windir's entire discography is nothing short of amazing.

Falkenbach will make the heathen in you proud.

If you like Darkthrone, you will like Behexen.

Summoning is for the Tolkien-junky in you. Not all of their albums are straight up metal, but even those ones are worth looking at. They're somewhat cheesy, but if you can get past that, it's amazing.

I'll post more if anyone wants to know more.

ive heard fas, is si a better album?

I like it a whole lot more. It's less experimental, but contains the similar concepts to Fas, considering they're part of a trilogy.

I agree, that guy is ridiculously talented. I believe he's playing live guitar for Born of Osiris or some gay band, such a waste. I really loved all the non-metal interludes on the Animals As Leaders album, Modern Meat.

Yo FragKrag, I'm really happy for you and I'll let you finish, but Destruction had the best thrash album ever.

Sorry, needed to get that out of my system. I'd only heard the advance single from it, but judging from that it should be awesome.

If you havent heard Repugnant you should definately check them out. If you haven't heard Epitome of Darkness you really should, that album is already legendary.

This is going to be completely retarded, and a bit of a jump from genres but...

New Black Dahlia Murder is out, album is great.
New Despised Icon has leaked, it's great too.
New Ruins of Beverast has leaked, great obscure black metal.

And for any Brutal Death Metal heads in the audience, Wormed is making a new album, and I recommend getting the new Human Mincer.

If you like that, look up Necrovation's Breed Deadness Blood. Great Old School styled album.

They need to streamline their sound somewhat. It sounds like their throwing random ideas against a wall, hoping for something to stick. Could never get into these "tech death" bands, when bands like Spawn of Possession, Cynic, Atheist, Nile are around. :S

the new album is on a completely different level. They evolved from plain Disgorge worship to being their own giant of a band. Amazing album. <3 Degradation Paradox.
