Band: Korpius [metal-archives link] Country: Canada Genre: death/black Recommended album: Shades of Black Why it's good: first album and already so good? Korpius wasn't a very young band (formed in 2003), but they managed to only release one album before splitting up. But what they left us with have quite nice punch to it. Shades of Black is album full of fast paces, riffage and double style, aggressive vocals. Very enjoyable, wish we could see what they could create next.

Riffs, sound of the instruments, etc...everything is pure cliché of prog metal ![]() Needless to say I was disappointed.

Band: Sear [metal-archives link] Country: Finland Genre: death/black Recommended album: Lamentations of Destruction Why it's good: fun stuff, aggressive and fast, lots of fury. will probably not blow anyone's mind, but if you're looking for a good piece of blackened death with lots of meat, you shouldn't be disappointed.

along with it is an unreleased version of Trampled Underfoot. it allows users to peer into the windows of the buildings on the album cover. namely, 96 and 98 East 8th Street ,St. Mark's Place ,Manhattan http://www.ledzeppelin.com/video http://www.rollingstone.com/music/videos/see-led-zeppelins-voyeuristic-interactive-trampled-under-foot-video-20150331 awesome stuff.

New Ghost! This song is so good, hits all the right notes for me. Acoustic intro, heavy rifting. You can definitely hear some Metallica influence in there, especially at the beginning. Can't wait for the full album, if it's all this good, potential AoTY!

I more than excited, the pit is going to be mental. I've actually become motivated to exercise so that I don't run out of steam after 2 songs. Anyone else have shows coming up?

They were also like 8 euro each which was super cheap. Such a great band all around.

After reading the article it talks more about having bands that become famous and no longer care.

After reading the article it talks more about having bands that become famous and no longer care. i think what he means is this: A band that will go way outside the boundaries of what is expected. Music as radical as the first Picasso was to painting. a smalI example: Stairway to Heaven. when this song was made radio stations wanted all songs to be 3.5 minutes long. this allows them to mix in several songs and time in commercials so that all radio stations were on a commercial at exactly the same time. this prevented channel skippers from song searching...everyone was forced to listen to advertising. Stairway to Heaven was 8 minutes long. now if it were 7 minutes or 10:30 the local FM DJ could still find a way to mix it in and hit properly timed commercial breaks. "in a tree by the brook there is a song bird who sings ... `sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven` " Led Zeppelin was a giant "fuck you" to the Beatles and their corporate-ism .. and a giant "fuck you" to the women's libertation movement.
