It pisses me off that I have to go to the Anime thread to find music when there is a music thread for a reason. Why ban an artist whose songs are used in anime? Because it could be posted in the other thread? Who cares. I'd rather not have to search through 2500 pages just to find one song when I can search through 80 pages in like 20 minutes. How can someone prevent music from being posted in a MUSIC thread just because it's used on a show? That's like saying because a The Who song from CSI is posted in a TV show thread it should be banned from the Classic Rock thread. Makes no sense to me. Seems like somebody got carried away with their banhammer powers. | ||

Though to be fair, you make the rule sound ironclad when it's not. Music in anime is definitely allowed to be posted, as I do it with all the Nana songs. Anime exclusive music (mainly OST) are not. I'm not sure how lenient/harsh the actual rules are but it's not as bad as you make it sound. Well, I actually don't have any problem with lifting the ban (just initially thought it was pointless cause was only thinking about posting) but I hope people don't start spamming OST music or something. Also, I'll just be biased and blame the fact no one uses my anime music thread keke. | ||

Keke anime thread <3 I guess my opinion on the matter is that it shouldn't be a ban of anime related material, however new submissions should be regulated so that only the best of an artist or an OST from a series is posted to reduce spam. | ||

+ Show Spoiler + or even a seiyu who releases a single under her own name, promoting outside of the anime series / movie itself (song below features in Dog Days) + Show Spoiler + vs this from Uta no Prince-Sama, in which the promotion is focusing on the series / game (because its on PSP) / whatever itself + Show Spoiler + I'm fine with the top two obviously... the last one not so much lol. The question is should songs like the last one be allowed for this thread's purpose or not. But even then there have been exceptions in the past, like if I remember correctly, a live perf of LiA was posted. | ||

I mean I've been posting buono! since the beginning, and that unit was designed purely to make anime OP/ED It's not about getting carried away with ban powers, its about people coming in, going "OMG I LOVE NARUUUUUTTTOOOO" and posting a wall of EDs/OPs not because they think the music is awesome, but just because they like the anime in question. In addition, there are so many anime fans on tl there is a worry that those could drown out the other PVs. I'm really on the fence for this though, as I can see it working out as long as people don't get carried away. AMVs are def banned though. | ||
