But bulldog knows better. same here. I called it a massive outdraft from LFY and said Liquid needs to dominate to even have a chance and they did. Or maybe we didn't understand it and the early outplay was a given from the draft, idk.
I agree the AM last ban and the morph 4 pick seemed draft winning for LFY. Liquid execution for the first 10 minutes was superb.

Kuro will have 2 lost finals is Liquid loses this. depending on who u ask, kuro was a defining factor why natus vincere lost vs alliance. fuk ye xboct They should try a TI3 reunion of Na'Vi but I don't think PPY/Kuro would get along. Maybe they'll make Dendi captain/draft because of it rofl. TI3 version of Navi would not last a day, they are not exactly on good terms with each other at this point, Dendi+anyone relationship aside. yeah i think dendi was quite unhappy with the fact that he spent 2 weeks practicing qop daily and never getting it in ti4

You don't get those sorts of wins over LFY by having 3v5... i'm sure i'm going to get shit for making this comment but liquid throughout the entire tournament looked very one note. Their games are predicated on whether or not they get their draft and if one key player like Miracle or GH doesn't get their comfort hero, they actually lose their games horrendously. I'm ready to eat my words here but honestly you can tell whether Liquid wins throughout this entire tournament just from draft alone. Can't say the same about other teams but well Liquid got this far for a reason. Liquid's strength revolves their draft so its understandable. I made a similar point to this earlier concerning the rat drafts, but I totally understand the disconnect between: > trying to win a TI > watching a TI and how they have different priorities: KKY doesn't care about how we perceive his play, as long as he gets to win. So if he's on a team with a strong reliance on drafting, he'll lean into that advantage.

I mean, I honestly think most if not every TI winner (i have to think back on this) just wins through smart drafts. IG, Alliance, Newbee, EG. I never watched Na'Vi and I don't even know if I can really count their TI victory and Wing's is pretttttttty debatable. Alliance was very far ahead of the meta during the whole 6 months, it was not only the drafts, it was also the use of jungle and buybacks, on top of that their coordination, if subpar by today's standards, was unrivalled at the time.

Anything else coming before grand finals?

At this level*
At my pubs, anything goes because everyone in my pubs is awful, but at that level of play the draft probably does account for a lot of how a game will go.

TI1 was played at gamescom next to the Razer booth.
