But because groups are decided randomly and TI has some pretty large variation in team quality, you can't assume that will be the case. You can't design the format assuming the groups are evenly matched. It doesn't even matter which group was harder. The fact that a group COULD be significantly easier/harder means you can't give too big of an advantage for being at the top of a group. | ||

That said, I don't think it's actually an issue that MVP happened to not win a single series. When I look back at the group stage, I don't think Liquid, Secret, Fnatic and VG.R deserves it either. | ||
