My issue with VG has always been that they don't ever win a big tournament even when they make it into the finals. They're sort of the C9 of China and I never thought C9 was tier 1, so.

Anyone know what Chinese pros have been saying? There were some people here yesterday/day before that were watching pro streams and telling us what they said. Especially about how they didn't think Secret was as much of a threat as EG because they said they could counter EE.

chuan/xiao8/hyhy (3rd guy usually rotates; they've had a lot of different folks)

I wasn't able to watch the chuan stream today so I don't know if xiao8 was watching this or not (it's usually on his stream)

When the teams were formed who wouldn't really hold EG as a bigger threat for the Chinese? Secret has a good squad but EG just won TI, recruited Arteezy and as far as I recall they have specifically done very well in crucial games against top Chinese teams all year long, whereas they sometimes drop games to western teams.

The c9 squads after TI4 always did well against western opposition other than Secret and EG but never really dominated all the Chinese teams. Of course they won a lot of the time against some of them but against VG especially I think their record was not particularly good.

Caught some of it

Chuan said Secret already had the type of aura teams had after winning major championships. And Misery plays like an offlaner that has won championships and not a new player.

Though these were said when Secret was owning the early game in game 2.

interesting. They were super impressed with secret yesterday too. Kept talking about how hungry they were and how they were really serious about this tournament
