Wouldn't it be something if he was eventually kicked, and Icex3 went back to being a mid player? I think there were a few moments where a better game sense would've prevented him from dying. Also that morphling pick still boggles my mind, especially vs AM + dazzle lane. It did nearly nothing except maybe troll around with some stuns and some cutesy replication mana sapping.

This is why Na'Vi performed best when they had a lineup with players who would just play anything, and could not stabilize with a roster of players with a much more focused list of heroes, even if in the short term those players were upgrades with regard to individual skill. I feel Puppey's picks have themselves changed over the years. He started off just picking a lot of comfort heroes - eg back when he was picking Pudge for Dendi, hard carry for Xboct every game, etc. But then there was a period when he tried to get his team to go outside of their comfort zone. For example putting Dendi on Magnus, Xboct on support heroes, etc. Finally, I think he's gotten a balance of the two. In Secret, you see him putting EternalEnvy and PLD on comfort heroes, and then using the versatility of Misery and himself to round out the team. The only player that is still a bit hard for me to understand is W33ha. Puppey started off picking comfort picks for him - eg Meepo, WR, etc. - but his hero list is increasing.

I'm curious to see why he hasn't played much of ta, qop etc. super played 5 heroes in 5 games and was decidedly average in all of them (g1 arguable I guess) I think it's much better to have a very very good limited hero pool than try and play everything at an average level because if you have 2 or more players that can do that (misery:slardar, w33:sf,wr, pld:bounty) then you can't get banned out and you basically never have to worry about 1-2 of your players not having a gigantic impact on the game. Obviously your other heroes should still be average to above average and not awful. It worked for alliance too when they were best in the world. Plus if they try to ban players you can get low skill ceiling obviously broken heroes like doom sneak past the ban phase.

I'm curious to see why he hasn't played much of ta, qop etc. well he's probably not gonna be playing much meepo from here on. teams have learned to expect the pick and found counters. but puppey values sf very highly, if he can get it after slardar or doom he will pretty much always pick it. and lately he hasn't even picked w33's hero in the first phase, it's always been ember/slardar/doom + a support. if teams allow him to second phase pick sf ofc he should go for it.
