..yes you do? I don't think you can even change that in console. But that doesn't mean that you can't hold down Ctrl anymore to attack or move with all of your owned units. They coexist quite nicely. Ctrl isn't bound to anything, it modifies what you click on next. If you want to share a ward, hold down ctrl before clicking on the item. If you want to move all your units, hold down ctrl before issuing a move or attack command.

That's what I meant: you don't need to keep Ctrl held down when you're clicking on your ally, only when you're first clicking on the item. Therefore, there should be no conflict between the two functions.

If you didnt mean counter by pickiss certain heroes, why countering are you exactly looking for? If you're looking for general non-herospecific advice its like how you handle just about any offlaner (zoning out, pulling, etc). Or what do you mean?

Well, I don't really know myself, I just find him very strong even if shut down decently during laning phase (ie he's lagging a bit behind in XP, killing him is really tough with only 2 guys). It's hard to zone him as rushing green boots allow him to trade well with any supports and he should not really have problem getting XP unless he's facing a trilane or a good dual lane combo, which does not happen that often in pubs. During fights he will spam all his spells and a well placed ult is devastating (behind the lines on supports who can't right click him very fast and away from carries who could). Grouping just ensure he will hit his spells with maximum potential and he will just ulti away and repat while splitting allows him to land well placed ulti on few heroes without risking getting his egg broken. I don't know how to position against him. I feel he should be treated as a priority target but it's risky as it puts spells on CD, he has good escape and the egg will do the job even if destroyed because it opens a lot of room for his mates.

Well, yea. Thats phoenix. You just have to try and handle it (like with any hero).

At the moment my best advice is to try to go late game versus him.. He wrecks all the way from when he gets his ult until lvl 16+. But there is a lot of heroes that can beat him easily with farm and levels. Also silence. Phoenix should start feeling weaker the longer after having maxed fire spirits. I play him guiltily to much.

Well, Phoenix in 90% is staying offlane and has very big cooldowns on spells.
You can control him as support, consistently harassing him (supports like Dazzle with instant animation are welcome, not slowpokes like Lina and CM, because Phoenix has slow attack animations and can't trade efficiently with you) and disabling his tranquils is key, because he won't be able to spam W, which is just painful.

Also he has 36 seconds cd on Q, so you can just force it and then force him out of experience range just by trading blows with him and disabilng tranquils.

One more thing is egg - if you're not W'ed, just attack this fucking egg, because usually i see how whole teams are just running from egg instead of killing it in 0.5 seconds.
Bird isn't really unbeatable, but i agree that he's very strong and i hope that we won't see it in competitive for a long time.

This is a bad plan because one of the biggest things about Phoenix is that he has a 6 second long 4% HP per second pure damage laser that wrecks at every stage of the game. One of the most effective things I have had against me is initiating onto Phoenix. Any time he has to use his ult early in a fight means you have a chance to kill him and minimize his impact. Make sure you also have stuns/silences for when he is using Sun Ray as that ability is devastating if he can get a full channel off.

In lane you need to be aggressive. It's like playing against a Dark Seer. If you let him get early levels and fast Tranquils he is going to wreck you. So you have to fight him at level 1 and 2 where he isn't as strong. Fire Spirits level 1 do 15 damage per tick. That's not going to be enough to kill most heroes. So 2v1 up on him and force him to back. Also if he uses spells before tranquils he is using up a large chunk of health. If you can get him to waste spells that's a win for you as well as it forces him to use his regen.

Phoenix's strength is teamfighting. A spread out, map control, rat Dota kind of game is fundamentally more awkward for him, because until he gets like Sheep or Atos and can use Dive->Sheep to lead off ganks, trying to force ganks is pretty troublesome for him. In small fights, it can be pretty weird for him to decide whether or not he wants to blow ult on like 2v2/3v3 skirmishes.

What's the website that tracks the percentage of heroes picked/banned in pro games? I can't seem to find it and I want to look for good supports to play/learn. So far I could only recall AA, Sandking, Disruptor, Leshrac.

Sand King, once you know how to jungle him, wrecks havoc in pubs. Other fun supports that are good but work differently than the bread-and-butter of supports are Shadow Priest, Thrall (as you mentioned), Shadow Demon and Earthshaker - they each have a different challenging perspective when it comes to execution and positioning!

Yes. Salves and Urn charges break on landing, though.

Also, on a side note - there used to be a timing window during descent when you could actually use your stick charges before being able to be affected by the vast majority of abilities (not Hook, Axe taunt etc), does anyone know if that has been removed?

Not really a strategy question, but I hope it's right here:
Is there a way to change your keybindings for an individual Hero? For example using QWER, change it so Rubik has the stolen spell in E instead of the passive while maintining the standard E for other Heroes? If this is possibel a link to a guide or an explanation would be greatly appriciated. Thanks!

how do you gank mid with a support? what time? do you tell yours teammates long before? I usually try to avoid going though obvious ward spots but even so I fail most of the times, not killing, lacking damage, etc. And this can be very annoying against heroes like tinker that after travel got 10x harder to gank.

how do you know when doesn't worth rotate to gank? do you literally do the math from yours spells or go just by feeling? I think I need to improve a lot on this side of play

Go at night if you can, use a smoke, ask mid if the wave is pulled back, if not ask him to pull it back a bit, try to have ur safelane creeps pulled back a bit (u can even pull a camp, not farm it and go smoke up to gank) that way the offlane player will tell the mid hey they're pulling, normally means not ganking.
dAPhREAk gives Shock a * | [23:55] <Shock710> that was out of context -_- [16:26] <@motbob> Good question, Shock!
