16 is from 7 mins onwards (forgot exact time) when the creeps lose their ms buff at the start stacks are done at 53 generally. when you go for your 4th stack you start stacking at 52, and 5th stack can be done at 51 if youre lucky.

You get more damage than maxing stun and the slow scales with level whereas stun duration/cd does not scale.

Max ignite with 4-4-0-0 is fine though. Ogre's skill order is honestly pretty situational.

Stun has shorter CD if you can cast it twice it has better damage, multicast are also better with max stun and maxing ignite will delay bloodlust which I prefer maxing second as it provides some really good movement to your whole team. Bloodlust is pretty sick early as the bonus ms easily allow you to initiate before dagger and provides a huge damage boost to your carry. You almost always want to roam early game as ogre, so it depends if you need the extra damage more than the initiation power. Even if fireblast is instant, the animation is long and it's not unusual the opponents can juke during it. If you combo with lesh, it could be worth maxing ignite first.

Also treads offer too much in terms of combat stats for 50 less gold to ever consider arcanes. Plus slark can just get supports to buy arcanes.

Also remember to Treads swap whenever it makes sense to.

Slark doesn't actually need the max mana because his mana costs are actually all really low, it's just that he can have a lot of over-time use. So he pretty much needs either one regen item or a +all stats item (e.g. Bottle, Aquila, Drums, or an Ultimate Orb-based item). Stick/Wand gives you that extra bit of mana for tight situations, and sending clarities works when you get your mana low but don't want to go home. Also remember to Treads swap whenever it makes sense to. Oh okay, yeah, that is the clearest I have ever had anyone explain it me. I still don't really understand the tread switching bit. Or rather, I understand the concept of it but I never really know when a relevant situation arises to tread switch.

In combat it's hard to do without the possibility of being worse off for it--just remember that it is an option for getting you that little bit of extra mana you need to cast a spell.
