Can somebody explain to me why Phoenix and Lycan are considered broken/strong/op in this patch? Especially for Phoenix, because I played alot of pubs and most of the time the Phoenix had 0 impact or started feeding (my mmr is around 4000). Could also be because they just didnt know how to play him.

And why Lycan is considered strong/firstban material? As I recall, only his wolves got changed (fade time, lvl3 invis and lvl4 15 hp regen). I mean he had howl, and aura for his summons before to wreck towers.

I am by no means pro or do have deep understanding of heros so thanks for anybody clearing me up!

whats that, never saw such gem, and also seems there is no effect to it. also, what would a demon be to capture its soul?

im cw, had a hard time in lane (actually losing it).
is it really a match up i should lose? i went RoP + tango + salve
should i have went stout?

I'm a big fan of rop salve tango and get the stout from the side shop asap

The one thing you have to be careful here is if the Weaver sees your starting items and expects you to do this, and forces the lane up on the first wave or two so that you can't safely get to the side shop for a lot longer than you want--forcing you to either use the courier or spend a long time without a Stout.

You just didn't have nice Phoenixes. Phoenix can singlehandedly win the game if his team can do cleaning up and he's pretty much best offlaner by far in pubs right now, becoming death machine after simple tranquil boots purchase.
This version is probably even better than initiial Phoenix, considering that ridiculous W-Q damage output.

Lycan fell after TI2 because of huge hp wolves's nerf and was considered as #4 hero like Doom right now in competitive sometimes, let's say.
But after consecutive 4 patches buffs for Wolves and Lycan in general, he's viable as hell right now. And 70% winrate in competitive just makes him hilariously good.

Wouldn't it be more that... he's hilarious good, thus he has 70% winrate in competitive?

Is there a good place to find item guides? I played leagues for some time it was required to look up builds because the ones in game are shit. But whenever I google builds for so and so hero, they are from like 2012 or 2013 at the latest. Please help T.T

In-game you can use guides that are done by community members that are usually at least better than the default valve ones. I'm pretty sure the game shows you how to do that when you start playing (its some button top left when ur in a match I think I dunno I don't use them).

You itemize because of game plan and stuff which happens there, not because there are 6 items for every hero.
Watching some competitive will be ok for some heroes, for other just experience and preferences in different situations.

In general, recommended items are ok but some of them are totally off lol.

This is utterly unhelpful to somebody with 0-10 games played.

As well as recommended items for every hero.
If everyone had same amount of items as QoP has, i guess, game could be way better and easier for newbies.

Recommended builds are ok if you're a beginner, item choices are way more game dependant than in lol. Even pros make some mistakes but they can already give you an idea of which are the possible builds. Copying builds from other players is often a good way to get started. Don't overthink it atm, you'll soon have plenty of opportunities to think "oh shit I should have built X instead of Y" once you have better knowledge of the all heroes, items and interactions.

The dotafire guides are pretty reasonable as far as item builds go. All the higher-rated in-game guides are usually OK too.

Just go get TDL's guides.

They're not perfect but they're way better than the in-game ones, and are going to be less hit-or-miss than random dotafire/steam guides.

If I am in a party and the leader starts searching, how do I know what game mode on what servers he is searching other than by asking him?

^ doesn't it show you where you're game-modes and other settings are usually shown?

Regarding stacking ancients, I usually pull them at :51-52, but when stacks get large, like 3+, does pull time change to :54 or so?

Also usually stack regular creeps at the same (51) time but sometimes they don't stack. Do certain creeps need to be aggroed differently (I heard some need to be body pulled if at 51) Thanks

TL's own Torte De Lini guides found in the in-game guide menu are very good. Just make sure when you select the guide to click ok as well, just selecting it does not load the item build/skill build (when I first started losing them I was at a loss why they weren't working). When you search for hero guides in dota2 just look for those that say 6.80, they're usually his

Ancients are derping sometimes, when there are a lot of stacks already, especially, you have to be careful with dinosaurs to not force frenzy to be casted.
But time is always same, 53-54 never matters basically if they can move properly and not block each other. It's easier to stack on Dire side tho, on Radiant it's better to start on 53 always.

Regulars to be stacked on 53 are ok, 51 is a bit too early.
You're body-pulling healers, because they won't move ever to follow your ass.

You're a bit early if they're not stacked. You can usually wait to 54 before pulling. The larger the stack the earlier you will have to pull, as they'll spend longer both leaving the area and returning as they'll bump into each other. Healers in easycamp needs to be bodypulled, or theyll go back early because they're dicks. Everything else is ok pulling at range. Also remember you need an extra second when bodypulling before they'll start chasing you, so take that into effect if you're a melee.

ah thanks about the healers, that makes sense. I think i did :53 ancients but :51 regulars, just forgot. Maybe that's why I was missing some pulls was it :51 before patch or smth? Why was that stuck in my head:o

Dunno, 51 seem really odd number l0l because you pull creeps on ~16 and ~46 in lane and stack camps at ~53-54.
And those numbers are in game like forever already.
