why not forcestaff? If u practise a bit u could obtain the allmost same result. Or is there such a big rangeleap between dagger/forcestaff that forcestaff is not usefull. Certainly the early ring of health and some extra mana is pretty nice or no?.

Half the range and more easily dodgeable due to not being instant. FF is awesome for a lot of heroes, but not for LC instead of blink. Not to mention ff is a fixed range, making it harder to hit your mark, compared to blink where you literally end up where you click.

Edit: 1200 range vs 600 range btw

Lothar's is fine out of lane. Blink-first builds don't have as much solo-kill potential, and with safelane freefarm, you can end up as the most farmed hero in game so your solo kill threat can be abused against many heroes.

Out of jungle, you pretty much have to go Blink first. It sucks when you get pubs that can't gank well with you, but the thing is, off jungle farm you simply aren't going to get to the point where you can pose a solo kill threat against anyone other than a support.

The advantage of LC jungle is that you can get Blink in ~7 minutes and start ganking and snowballing the game, which you HAVE to do with LC to win the game. With safe lane farm, you have a little more leeway, but with jungle, your comparatively low farm means you have to start doing things as fast as possible or you become irrelevant.

my other question, are people laning with her maxing q and w first with a point in e at 4? or w and e with a point in q at 2? how was she built in dota1?

Q+W in lane, E+W in jungle.

hmmmm noted. i played a bunch more games with her this afternoon and am starting to like the blink dagger a lot more. i went back to a blink-less build afterwards and i felt naked.

in my experience am starting to think that she is best as a mid, though, i have not tried to jungle.

Yango thinks she's a bad mid, but I think she can be decent in certain lanes. Push wave for rune control with arrows, and level passive for auto-harass. If you grab a stout shield and right click the enemy hero the creep hits on you will make you hit them extra times for minor lifesteal, but if you don't get really unlucky with stout procs the lifesteal ought to cover the creep damage even with just 1 level.

So far my attempts to jungle her have seemed really bad/slow, but I've seen some ~8 minute blink jungling Legions in my games. How do you guarantee good blink timings out of jungle?

You have to completely AFK farm. If you just right click camps, you can easily get an 8 minute Blink

She simply does't do anything that any other Bottle-Crow hero does't do, and going mid requires that you max Overwhelming Odds first and forces you to get stuff like Boots and Bottle before your Blink Dagger, when pretty much every other Bottle-Crow hero actually does something before their first major item, or just has a more powerful first item timing.

Something like Magnus can Bottle-Crow and farm till Blink Dagger because when he gets Blink Dagger, his game influence skyrockets. LC needs to have like 3 Duel kills by the time Magnus has Blink Dagger, because she's actually a fairly weak teamfighter before she has items and enough Duel kills. You simply can't wait till that late to have a Blink Dagger because many mid heroes can just go 5-man with their first minor item (Pugna Meka, Magnus blink, etc.), and LC basically has zero way to deal with that kind of early 5-man. She needs time to go get kills before then.

So to do well as LC later on, you pretty much just need to snowball with Duel kills? I played her a few times, and I felt that I did "okay," but it was still pretty underwhelming compared to other strong heroes.

Is it viable to get mana boots with Tiny if you are safe lane farming?
I used to always build mana boots on tiny regardless if mid or safelane, but then someone way better told me to build treads by default in safe, sometimes phase depends on the game. He told me if i have trouble last hitting because the lane gets contested a lot i can get phase boots.
I played a couple of games with treads/phase but i liked mana boots better.
The advantage with mana boots is you can farm the big jungle camp with your combo and still have enough mana to have your combo ready, it is easier to gank or be safe from ganks because you always have enough mana for your stun.
If you go treads that is not always the case. I usually keep mana boots untill a big item after aghs, usually that is a bkb or ac, and sell them for treads.

Phase are hands down my favorite boots on tiny because they allow you to catch up to your enemy and combo them to death. Treads are great if you combo with a wisp for example. As for your mana troubles, just get bottle or soul ring. (I get bottle if I mid, soul ring if I farm safe lane. I almost never go dagger because you are so fast with ult phase and situationally also drums and yasha. Then again mana boots are worth it if you play a less carry more ganking style of tiny.

im not sure about brood:
seems somehow fun to play (even without the abuse of map-borders)
but is a rare hero to be seen since its quite fast countered by bounty, seeker or just a good detection-network.
so do you think its worth invest some time into her to get better?
Ooooh, look at it go

Sometimes it's just dumb and you can go into their profile, click their name there and the option will appear in that menu.

brood is a lot of fun! shes a very situational pick but if you know that their safelane farmer/support don't have good aoe clearing skills then you can fuck with them all game long, get kills 1v2 / 1v3, occupy their entire jungle, etc.

at lower levels when people dont buy sentries, its even better :3

None of those things counter brood though lol. Not even a little bit.

Question about Dota 2 updates, if I pause the current update, reboot my laptop, and resume the update, would it resume where I left it off initially? I had to pause the December 13 update (530MB) and when I resumed now, I noticed that the total update size is now 548MB (gut feel that they added the December 14 update to this one). My download started from the top. Why didn't my download resume to the point where I paused it before?

I've been playing around with LC as more of a carry and I feel like there's some minor potential (at least in sub-optimal pub settings). I think Blink is still your first item but I've been going 1-1-4 for the skill build and then getting at least a 3 or 4 levels of stats instead of adding to the first two skills. The nuke doesn't help you win Duels and the level 1 heal still has the same dispel power. Getting stats helps you out in those early ganks and mini-teamfight situations.

Or you max heal and then pop it on yourself before blinking in and dueling (for 120 IAS for most of the duel duration). Seems good.

It would have but as you said yourself, something was added to the update and steam isn't smart enough to handle that

I think I'd rather have more HP in the early game. Your right click is pretty bad until you start accumulating kills so it's your team that's providing the damage anyway. 120 IAS with crap damage is still crap damage, especially when you haven't even upgraded your brown boots yet or your only real item is a BKB.

Well then you are in luck because another level of Press the Attack is 50 HP regenerated whereas another level of stats is 38 HP.

AKA stats are strictly worse than levels of press the attack lol.

PtA doesn't help much if you're silenced or if you're low on mana. Two very real possibilities in the early game when you have a low mana pool and you have no BKB.
