Ok, so , i am a sc2 player that has played his first two DOTA2 game today. 1 win 1 loss. I did a lichbuild because i read somewhere that as a support its easier in the start. But what i need to know atm aint in the guide

So hopefully u guys/girls will help me out.

1. I play a lichbuild as support for the carries. Now ,do I need to let them take all the xp and gold or not, if so how do i get to the point of mekanism+some research?
2. Lets say i try this lich+mekanism+drum of indurance build. What do i research first, 2nd, 3rd and 4th with a build like this?

thx peeps!

1: Lich can be played in a variety of positions, meaning his priority for getting gold/xp differs from game to game. If you're supporting a carry you should let the carry get as much gold as possible. You will usually be getting most of your gold from hero kills/assist and tower kills, since you're not expected to "farm" a lot of creeps. But keep in mind that any last hits you can get can go a long way, as long as you're not competing with a carry for it.

A nice way to get gold/xp while letting your carry get his farm, is to stack and pull jungle camps, this way you can farm the camps in the jungle, while letting your carry get the lane creeps. See

2: Not sure if by research you're reffering to hero abilities or items. If you're talking about items mekansm is usually the first major item you should be going for (after you have your boots), the order of getting the required items for the Mekansm is largely irrelevant. Items that help out your team are very strong on lich in general, meaning Mekansm, Pipe of Insight, Force Staff and Urn - just to name a few.
In terms of skill build you should be focusing on Frost Nova and Sacrifice during early levels (ofcourse getting your ultimate along the way.

As a support, you should be leaving most of the lane gold and XP for your carry unless they need you - you can get most of the money and experience you need from stacking and pulling (video guides here). Stacking and pulling is a really good skill to learn as a support because it lets you get some items up without taking anything away from the carry, which is obviously great for everyone.

Usually with lich, your skill build will be something like:

1. sacrifice
2. frost blast
3. frost blast
4. sacrifice
5. frost blast
6. chain frost

then max frost blast > sacrifice > frost armour (obviously take ult when you can). Early sacrifice lets you deny a lane creep as soon as they spawn, and then it will cool down before you start lasthitting, effectively fully denying half of the enemy's first wave of XP (which is INSANELY good - lets you get level 2 significantly earlier, and if your carry can do a decent amount of damage you can get fb at level 2). Then max frost blast because it's such good harass - spam that shit all the time, support your mana with sacrifice, and repeat until level 6 (with judicious stacking and pulling).

All your support questions can be answered here, in the greatest supporting guide:

http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=377503

I'll answer your two questions in a gist though:

1)Supports are supposed to let the carries get all the farm, yes. That means no gold, and staying out of exp range when possible. You get gold by pulling jungle creeps (see more of this in the guide), killing people and getting last hits whenever a carry isn't there to get them.

2)there are ingame guides for each character on how to skill your hero. In the upper left corner there's a button for guides - pick one that isn't valve's and go with it.

3) as a support, your role is to domiate the early game. In a VERY broad sense, this means making sure that your carry can freefarm (by setting up Vision Wards & bullying the enemy out of the lane).

have fun with dota! it's an amazing game and you won't regret getting into it

You want to take Frost Armor level 8 to 10 actually. You are out of laning stage by that point and Sacrifice is pretty useless. Frost Armor on the other hand is a-m-a-z-i-n-g and if you don't pick it up at that point chances are you won't ever.

Throwing a wrench in here:
If you're just starting out, playing a no gold/no exp support is a bad bad idea. In medium level matchmaking you cannot rely on others to carry consistently. It will work half the time, and the other half it won't.

Mainly try to make as many of the enemies dead as you can. If you die and your team kills more people in return, that's good. It's important to get a feel for how teamfights work and what hero does what spells.
The stacking and pulling support technique should be advanced and not done until you know what you're actually doing.

Also players get really emotional during dota, so don't take it personally when people flame you. Most people try to blame others when the game goes downhill.
If nobody hates you, you´re doing something wrong. However someone hating you doesn´t make you right

When playing Dota2 at a low level, I think playing a carry and learning how to farm (since no one will really prevent you from doing so) is the best idea. You'll just blaze through people when you the hang of it.

I just use 1 for hero, 2 for bear and space for all units - I always have space set to all units, it makes both ld and meepo, as well as heroes like enigma and furion, way easier for me.

Just play games, doesn't matter which mode.

Axe is a pretty friendly beginner hero, has a lot of power in the early game (which is a long time in the lower MMR) and can go in each lane/jungle. Just make sure you skill the right way (battle hunger if you're laning, helix if you're jungle) and buy the right items (Blink + some sort of defensive item)

Windrunner is a good allaround hero. Straightforward skills, ranged, survivability and she can be good throughout the entire game.

Jungle Axe still maxes Hunger after 1 point Helix. Hunger's strength in early ganks outweighs the slightly faster farming speed of Helix.
