Helps with mana, but the wolves can't tank since last nerf, and if you tank, even with Stout shield you will need more HP regen. Just a lone tango will last very little.

start with a bottle and hope for runes on your side. if you do it right and are a little lucky you will farm at a similar rate as pre nerf lycan.

Just a though, with random money could you make it work a hero with a good damage low cooldown area nuke?
You can buy more clarities/basilus/sage's mask earlier.
Even someone like Omni could jungle decently with basilus + stout... Start with degen aura to be hit less and kite a bit, then skill heal after first camp. I don't know, could work.
Not really useful, but still.

What's the opinion on Orchid Tiny? It seems counterinituitive but I'm having a lot of succes rushing it after tier 2 boots. The sick build-up and additional mana really helps you farm, I'd say better than a quick aghs since that has a bad build-up and still leaves you in need of a lot attack speed when finished. Ava Toss clears waves and camps faster, so you're only lacking the increased push power and ability to quickly take down stacked ancients, which I feel are better later on in the game anyways.
Basically, can Orchid be a farming item on Tiny?

Basically, can Orchid be a farming item on Tiny? I like the idea. The damage portion is still completely cost-efficient, the buildup is smooth and it gives you a very quick clear left right and center.
edit: Now that I think about it, it might get awkward because you have no way of engaging fights properly. Boots+Orchid+Blink seems to hit a much weaker timing than Arcanes+Blink and Phase/Drum/Orchid/Yasha is also expensive as fuck for something like this.
Not sure if there is a way to abuse tinys insane lvl 8-9 with an Orchid rush at all.

The main problem is that Tiny still needs an item that allows him to engage (Blink or 522 MS), and pairing any of those with Orchid leads to awkward development.

A solution can be found beyond just itemizing. Alternatives could be:
Teammates with good ways to force fights, so Tiny can cleanup. Abusing the fact that the other team doesn't want to get anywhere near tiny at 8-9 instead of forcing fights onto them. Tiny is already farming slowly because the entire team picked carries. A slow build (maybe including wards) would be preferential to 0 items.

that's still 7k+ for both, arcanes+blink or drums+yasha cost less than an orchid and lets you farm heroes

Rod of Atos, what do you think about this item? I see it is nice for those int intensive need of heroes like outworld devourer or silencer but who else do you think needs this or whats heroes are good with this? Any Str or Agi heroes who have ideas with?
|
good for anyone who can benefit from the hp/mana and need the slow. if youre an int hero its even better since u get dmg too. only problem is that in most cases you would just rather have an orchid or a hex for the utility. but its a solid pick up on silencer, od and even skywrath. personally i think a rod on skywrath is a lot better than force staff.
|
There isn't a niche it fills. It can be alright on OD and silencer in very specific situations, but generally its outshone by many other items.
As a mid game combat item, its competing with items like mek, drum, blink, armlet, etc, one of the latter will take precedence. As a support item, it competes with force staff, ghost sceptre, or just pure hp. On anyone, its probably better to keep saving up to sheep stick - a hard disable is actually important late game, while a soft disable that can be dispelled with BKB/purge/manta or played around with an escape ability just isn't valuable in any sort of game remotely resembling a competitive setting.
Also, its stat efficiency only matters on a very few heroes. Most heroes will have their mana issues solved by the point in the game they can afford to buy a 3100 gold item. Without its int, atos is a vit booster + a slow - calling that "weak" is insulting to bloodseeker. On str/agis with their mana issues already solved, atos may as well not have int. Even int heroes have their mana issues solved most of the time, making it just a pure +damage. Often other heroes need even more mana than atos gives and/or need other items. And while there are a few heroes that fully want all the stats it gives (like silencer, skywrath mage, OD), VERY rarely is it worth it over similar items (I don't know skywrath very well, but OD and carry silencer both benefit from a mek for survival purposes, since it just works very well on both heroes, and its very hard to justify buying another mid game item for survival when you often need a BKB anyway and sheep is a more attractive option more pure damage).
TLDR: 99.99% of the time you want atos, you want one of drum, mek, force staff, sheep, etc more.
+ Show Spoiler +Hope I'm still making sense at this point. Stupid biological clock. Sorry in advance if I'm not.

It's actually not that good on OD and Silencer because of how much they benefit more on Intelligence items that give them other combat stats. The lack of Agi, attack speed, or armor on the item hurts it a lot because generally by the time you're considering it, there's a significant need for those stats.
It's actually much more suitable for damage-oriented casters that benefit from the pure Int and HP--e.g. Skywrath Mage and Zeus.

yeah I think that Rod of Atos is just an item outshined by other int items thats why I would like to know if there are really good uses for it. It seems to me it is like a poor mans item for OD and silencer, but not really as for staff is still cheaper and stand point booster works well too. 20 damage is not that justifyable. And you can alays go straight orchid with those 2 int staves or just rush for mystic. But still I wanna hear some ideas for this and heroes that compliment it's slow ability.

if you are the one chasing atos is nice to have. if game is hard that items pretty useless.

Shredder should just be getting Bloodstone. After that, your mana is handled by maintaining Bloodstone charges.
Eul's + Atos spends way too much on stats the hero doesn't want/need.

Euls is pretty OK on timber afaik but atos doesn't really do much for him. He needs a dedicated mana item (preferably bloodstone or sheep) not some terrible +20int atos, and the slow is barely relevant because timber is twice as mobile as any hero a slow would affect, plus his ult slows already. The HP is nice but way overcosted (3.1K lol), just buy a bloodstone.
But yeah, Euls is sick. Chain in, toss out an ulti and blow your otehr ability, fly yourself, and by the time you come down all your abilities are up again. Its also a great way to deal with silences (which really screw timbersaw over). Plus your ult can have been out the whole time. Its kinda a shame the "run faster" part does actual nothing on the hero.
