i always find myself having to build drums because my hp and mana are so low and bottle doesnt give enough regen
which in turn delays any bkb/sheep/orchid
are there any middle tier items i can get?

While you can manage your mana get by with just tread switching, I feel you lose a great deal of opportunities farming in the woods or flashfarming creepwaves that are pushed far towards the enemy. That's just my opinion, though. If you're playing it right, the enemies will most likely group up early or at least stay relatively close to each other. Similar to playing versus Bounty Hunter etc. Against early grouping up you can either straight up win teamfights or if that doesn't work, play ratdota with high mobility and evading engagements. You should add skadi to your list of items you get later. It gives the second highest max hp of items and unlike heart, it gives you passive abilities you do not already have. Basher/Abyssal is legit though. Should I only be getting either Skadi or Basher? Or does it make sense to get both? If I should only get one of the two should I get something else after my treads/drums etc or start straight away working to Skadi?

You get max hp and slow, which is great and you get damage, bash and guaranteed 2 sec stun which is great. The only bad item builds are those which focus too hard in one direction and neglect one or more areas. For dps you need only dps, effective hp and a killing mechanism(mobility/lockdown). For QoP I like to go early aghanims sometimes. It comes in small bites that give what mana and hp and it's really freaking good to have sonic wave on 40 second cooldown.

Lol I've never seen drums on QoP. Aghanims can be situationally ok

Not sure, I just thought that having a slow plus a bash might be overkill on the CC and could be spent better elsewhere (I'm not great at this game so that's my reasoning :D) then again Slark really needs the stats from Skadi and bkb piercing stun is always good so I guess there isn't any reason not to get both. I dont like drums on qop. If you need to fight early just get a bkb. Mid tier item is the ultimate orb you get for your sheep =P. Orchids build up is really good so its not hard to get, even though it makes you really squishy. I like linkens a lot on her even though its pretty bad. Aghs is very situational because its not too good till level 16, and at that point the enemy team has bkbs.

Sometimes if you found that the oppos are derping around while it is possible for you to farm back into the game, agha/orchid/hex before 30mins is borderline acceptable (it depends on the situation, afk farming while team needs you to fight is just bad). But drum is by all means a nice item at disadvantaged game especially when you needed to spend that gold otherwise you are just going to die again and again before you get your 30mins orchid or 40mins hex. The thing is that a disadvantaged qop really won't have much impact to the game other than throwing that ulti in team fight, if you were to banking all the gold just to get a late orchid/hex/agha, might as get drum/eul/ghost/2xnulls etc. Where do you get income for a qop is more of a problem than item choices, sometimes you cant just do anything with certain line up (like with a jungler in team).

It's hard even if you know exactly what you should be doing. Best scenario at lvl 1 you stack the camp close to lane, then lasthit the creeps that are about to die. Depending on the time stack that camp again, go kill the small camp and then pull again. After you managed to get one whole creepwave of your team killed, you can choose to clear the entire stacked camp with the next wave. This procedure should get you to lvl 2 or 3 without being damage too hard. Doing it correctly is kinda hard though. Starting items can look something like stout shield, 2 heal pots, 2 clarities, 1 branch. Generally you need clarities and healing pots early as lycan, because of the nerf to the wolves(higher manacost for spell, less hp). A stout shield and a quelling blade both help tremendously. You can't get all in your starting items however. Your first item should always be a ring of basilius(aura on). After that get power treads and vladimirs offering, afterwards proceed your itembuild normally. Level 1 of wolf summons can't take many hits. That's why I'm not too sure if passive first or wolves is better at level 1. At lvl 3 you want 2 points in summon and 1 in passive. Summon to lvl 4 at lvl 7, ulti at 6, generally get the passive up before the howl. That's all uninteresting though, because most jungle lycans fall apart before reaching lvl 4. You're doing ok if you're not the last guy in your team to reach lvl 6. If you're level is close to the guys on your dual lane you're doing quite well. If you're the highest level of your team just by jungling without any early kills happening, you're doing amazing. Really, really amazing. Don't expect it to happen ever. I haven't seen it yet.

Most single target spells will be dodged though if you fade after it lands.
