In the same vein, is there some list of targeted spells that will follow you if you invis during their travel time?

wouldnt it be somehow useful for late game to get a refresher and duoble spam the ulti?
it would cause quite some dmg to every single player or even the whole team if they are grouped.

2nd question, how do i pull the 2nd camp correctly on radiant side?
this double-pulls never work for me, i usually have to stack the 1st camp to make sure the wave wont get past.

Radiant side? If you've got a tango for the trees, I actually find it much nicer to through pull than stack and pull. Stacking and pulling means I need to go there twice (or linger for longer!) and the stacked camp will kill my creep wave with some survivors. A through pull, however, can be manipulated so you get the deny on your ranged creep and the last hit on the last mob of the second camp, provided you're not messed with at all!

Like someone above said, the key is to have the second camp attack you while your creep wave is within... ~500 range of you, and is out of other targets to attack. They'll respond to the AI call for help, and run to defend you.

To be fair, you can actually even pull the hard camp radiant side to the second medium camp if you're super greedy. But honestly there really isn't a point to it unless you grab the catapult.

Slarks mana problems are something you can grow out of, because they don't increase. Always go Dark Pact first, since it drastically reduces mana cost.
To be honest though, there have been games where I went for Soul Ring, but I can't remember a game where I went for Aquila. Games in which all your lanes are already in use and you run around jungling and ganking. Other games where there's a lot of movement and it's dangerous to sit in a lane too long, so you need to flashfarm the lane. Or simply in games where one of those ugly mana burners is around. Imho all these can justify going for Soul Ring.
Early on Slark does his most damage through Dark Pact. I don't miss the 15 damage the Aquila gives. Especially if I can throw mana management out the window and flash farm everything besides golems and ancients.

Why would you build an Aquila at all on Slark anyway? It's nothing he needs. It barely qualifies as mana, it's not lockdown, it's not max HP. It's 1000 gold that's not going to a Skadi or a Basher or a Yasha or another useful item.

and max pounce, you're not playing a farmer, you're playing a cold motherfucking blooded killer. also it makes you super unkillable

So, should you max dark pact or pounce first? I've been compromising by getting 3 levels of pounce at level 5, then maxing out dark pact at level 9 and pounce at level 10. The reasoning is that at really early levels you barely have enough mana for pounce only, and I don't like damaging myself with dark pact when I don't have ult yet. However getting dark pact first sounds reasonable if you're mid with a bottle, which I have no experience with.

I've briefly tried the soul ring, and its biggest bonus is that you always have mana for ult, so you can use it in every fight. Out of combat it gives you 2 dark pacts and a pounce for farming, or 2 pounces for moving around the map faster.

Builds are vastly different for different matchups mid

For example, against most melee heroes ud grab a level of essence shift at lv 2 or 3

I tend to get more levels of pact mid as well, because it's useful for pushing the lane.

Idk if that makes me bad.

pounce for long lane. dark pact for mid/short lane
get an essence shift at 4 because it acts as a 1 point wonder when you trade hits. usually dark pact is maxed first cause it deals more damage

I almost always go 0-1-1 at lvl2 (mostly for solo mid or hardlane, essense is also good when you are dealing with melee hero on safelane) and then the rest is up to the game. I prefer to max dark pact first than pounce because I found that either you are ganking extensively (which means you will get more levels of pounce relatively quick anyway) or when you couldnt go mad ganking so you just farm up quickly with dark pact. And then just drop some levels into essense when you feel like it, sometimes i leave lvl4 essense until i get lvl25.

It's highly game dependant in general.

Especially considering Dark Pact gives you a much better farm ability while Pounce means you have higher mana consumption for a tad more mobility. Saying one is strictly better than the other is just flat out dumb.

Midlane there are a lot of good points for Pounce max if you can control the map and avoid falling behind, Dark Pact max is an overall more stable option since, again, you can just easily farm the jungle very quickly. Your Treads+Drums farms jungle as fast as a BF AM. Safelane I consider Pounce max a complete waste.

There's no shame in being 2-2 at level 4 and working from there.

I always max pounce first with one point in essence shift ( wrecks when you\re against meele heroes during laning) and one in Dark Pact.
I personally feel Slark is a shitty farmer so I've always played him like BH - hit 6 and start roaming for the rest of the game.
as long as I can get boots/wand/oov from the laning I'm good to go.

He's definitely a better farmer than BH and has less of an effect when ganking since he has nothing like Track for the team. He's also a fair bit more item dependent early game.

Slark is one of the best farmers in the game. I don't know why you'd consider him a shitty farmer.

He also has really poor base stat growth, so unless you're expecting your early ganking to pay major dividends, there is a lot of benefit in flash-farming him into a major item with Dark Pact max. As said before, it's highly dependent on the game and your position in it.

Actually, there's a lot of good reasoning for Pact hard lane and Pounce mid. Mid Slark will level faster due to having mid farm, so it's easier to justify the loss in farming speed because you will hit level 9/10 quickly anyway. You will also likely gank more actively than if you were in either side lane. Hard lane Slark benefits a lot from being able to flash-farm jungle at level 6/7 to catch up on gold/items and have a stable set of core items midgame. If a hard lane Slark maxes Pact first, and doesn't find a lot of kills with it, he'll very likely end up useless midgame.

Now with dota_range_display out of the picture, how does one efficiently learn the Blink Dagger range? I feel like such a scrub blinking in with Magnus and Skewering thin air cuz I was 100 range short of my target T_T

I'm guessing experience will give you that spider sense?

exactly because of his shitty stats gain.

you may have a 300 AoE spammable nuke but if he isnt constantly stealing agility from ganks his attack speed is frustratingly slow.

and in my particular case I'm always solo queue, which means supports may not build arcanes and even if they do - they'll probably not use them if they dont need the mana themselves, they'll just pass by you in the jungle....

two pacts per jungle camp is 80 mana, which means if a teamfight erupts there is a high chance you'll be entering the fight with almost no mana left...one shadowdance, a punce and you're a dead/useless slark because of mana issues.

anyways,at best he is a mediocre farmer.
at best.
admittedly because there are carreis that farm even slower than him.

wonderful ganker though, given his skill set its a complete waste to play him as a farming carry imo

Treads swapping + a clarity on your way across the map basically keeps you topped off. You really shouldn't have any problems evening out your mana usage after you have Treads+Aquila+Wand or Treads+Drums+Wand.

What's the best item progression to farm an ethereal blade on morphling? i've been going acquila->treads->perseverance->ghost sceptre/eaglesong depending on safety (and then go back for linkens). i go for the perseverance because i find mana and hp regen is a constant issue for morph, but it also slows down my ethereal blade so much that it often comes online way too late. is there a better way of doing this?

slarks aoe nuke costs so little mana/damage, he can farm small/medium/lane creeps super fast. and he gets to the next farming location faster than most heroes also.

you farm when you cant get anything done by ganking. which happens in some games. but in most games you should get kills fairly easily.

Either finish the Linken's completely before E-blade, or go E-blade directly (only if you're really farmed). Going Perseverance->E-blade slows down your E-blade without giving you any of the benefits Linken's has for E-blade (since you'll block the first spell thrown at you, you have the safety to have more Agility morphed than you otherwise would).

if you opt for dark pact over pounce in the hard lane, you wont hit lvl 6/7 for a long time. unless youre in a lane where the opponent cant force you out properly, you should get pounce to get exp/cs whenever you can because you have a reliable escape. you cant afford to do that with dark pact, especially since dark pact reduces your already terrible hp early game. pounce also allows you to leave your lane very early and gank, kind of like a bh except you have a much more reliable ganking tool. at mid, the hp loss isnt an issue with bottle and a quick lvl 6, and you can contest many other mids for runes (storm, mag etc) with dark pact. 1 (or 2) lvls of pounce at lvl 7 is sufficient when ganking sidelanes assuming your teammates picked heroes with stuns/slows.
