would you bring back fng in change of artstyle ? im not so sure, while i dont think this version of the roster has what it takes to be n1, is clearly a roster that works and can be the best out of the top tier teams Nah fng might be a bit mechanically better than Artstyle but he doesn't have the leadership element.
Our best hope is Secret to crash and burn and we manage to snatch Puppey back ...

I don't think his mechanically superiority will make up for his own cohesion related issues.

We're still the best of the rest :D

I want them to play vs Newbee. I just feel like vs Og/Liquid they just have a mental block and play so much worse then normal.

Its not much of a mental block thing, those teams are just better and matchup better. Newbee would be the same. Their style crushes Na'vi really hard.

I'm more interested in them facing LGD VGR and ehome. Against wings, they have shown that they can get a good start, but somehow they keep throwing away the lead. I think dendi started his wr with a triple kill, but then he just fell off. Wings were beatable, unlike og and liquid.
We can beat any tier 2 western team. The Chinese are untested though for us.

They crush everyone, those 3 teams are just flatout better than others
Wings has that Empire feeling to them tho, one day they could beat OG 10-0 and the other lose to complexity and drop out of the major

As I see it, if they keep playing like this, they won't be getting any further, they will just be there, below OG and Liquid and randomly below or above a few teams depending on the luck of the draw.
It is commendable that they found a playstyle that fits them and they keep trying it (forcing it to be honest) looking for a way to make it work. But on the other hand they have to adjust themselves to be able to grow. They should be able to play dual core more often and work on different kind of rotations. Why? Because what they do right now works for them against teams of the same caliber or slightly ahead (they took a game off of Wings, who beat OG), but to beat OG and Liquid they MUST change something because those teams knows them very well and are way ahead in terms of decision making (at least against them).
In short, they are pretty good taking into account the road they had to walk to get here but to get better they have to find a new comfort zone.
|
Eh? Have you seen the weird ass drafts in the OG series even? Seems like experimenting that backfired against even wackier drafts. I wouldn't look into The Summit very much at all, everyone seems to be having fun
|
^ But they did try to play dual core vs Liquid in both games Jugg/Clinkz and LC/Alch, but imo the laning was all wrong. I think in G1 they should have gone Dirge/Jugg/Dazzle offensive trilane, Clinkz mid and SK safe. Another thing is that Dendi was just so passive all game on a Jugg..
In G2 they saw Huskar vs Alch wasnt working, just put LC against Huskar, she does much better against him. That would also free ET to do something else than just babysit Dendi mid.
I can see they are trying new stuff, but they just seem very close minded how they go about doing things. My biggest problem with NaVi is that Dendi never changes lane, if he wants to play a core hero, he should be able to switch lanes on occasions. I've also noticed that NaVi plays way better when ArtStyle is playing aggressively rather than defensively.
|
Yep, as I said, more often.
|
Dendi played safe lane vs fnatic tho, with dytia ra going mid
Im happy that they seem to realize they lack more play styles but tbh, they do seem to be working on it. They are trying mpre stuff, even general going for sand king and swaping dendi with dytia ra in lanes
They should try to give general mid some time and threw more curve balls, he started as a mid player too
|
General SK wrecked so many offlanes, so they thought they could do the same against liquid. But nope oracle + mirana too strong. Also hope they don't ever practise lc again. That hero never is a factor.
|
To be honest, this was a decent tournament to try stuff (pretty sure general sk offlane was new for navi in tournaments, as was LC).

Newbee would be the same. Their style crushes Na'vi really hard. OG and liquid look both a lot more shaky against other teams than against navi, I mean just look at the summit results. Given, fnatic matches up badly against navi. But boy navi gets slaughtered every time they go against og and liquid, it looks like they just forget how to play dota.
So yes, they are probably worse than all three even if they bring their a-game, but they still seem to go on tilt every time they have to face og or tl.
|
It's a mental thing I tell ya. They tried to play their best against OG and Liquid and got crushed so they had to resort to playing differently which obviously put them out of their comfort zone and ... well got crushed again. It's one of the those things in competitive sport where you have this one or two teams that always got your number no matter what ... I'm not saying Navi would have won but they surely wouldn't have lost that badly if it hadn't been OG or Liquid...
But then again we can only ask for so much. The boys will be back for SL and probably stomp a couple of tier 3 teams like Secret or EG to gain back some confidence XD

Yeah Dendi admitted that when they start playing OG they just mentally crumble and start playing like retards.
They just need a lucky win against them somehow to start believing again

No need. Let the other teams do that for us. Bracket means everything, guys

Bracket means everything, guys I mean pretty much guaranteed 100% TOP2 TI6 finish would be okay if that's the case... But just hoping OG gets knocked out by 2 other teams is a risk the guys shouldn't be willing to take.

Well maybe a Starladder Championship will help break that mental block. I think it's doable so let's do it Navi!
