It's not really the first time ppd failed in a draft but honestly any drafter has failed before.
Puppey has that naive "give the enemy team everything they want" draft, ppd drafts some drafts that has no synergy, pie drafted the legendary c9 support tinker (lol), envy has the elimination series so fucking greedy " give all his teammates whatever they want" draft, i've seen lanm draft some really weird draft from DK 2014, ROTK did the all venomancer draft in the TI4 finals, s4 did some really weak 3,4,5 pos draft and i bet even xiao8 had some bad drafts or got outdrafted from time to time.
Even those who drafted a long amount of time still gets outdrafted by the classic very common 5th pick AM which is the most obvious shit in the world but it still happens. So I wouldn't really worry much about that.

It's kind of the same scenario as it was in the Summit 4 finals, EG vs VP.
PPD never banned SF even though they just lost 2 games in a row, and PPD again let SF through the first ban stage. However, EG's strategy against eventually SF worked and they won the series. Here, with NP against Liquid, and EG continually going for Enigma, it didn't pan out.

EG won't win as long as Sumail is playing on Notail's level. Dude has not really had the overwhelming performance you expect from him. I guess Lina/Lesh/Storm have been nerfed out of the meta but still.

It worked in the summit because VP was completely knackered after playing the lower bracket finals before they played the grand finals. It was also in the middle of the night CIS time so that didn't help VP either

PPD looks like he is pretty sick right now. Travelling when you're sick must not be cool xd He also confirmed that next week they leave for Croatia for Dota Pit indeed, should be fun. 2 day European lan perfect!

How on earth are you able to disregard a 0-2 to 3-2 change as not game related?
In fact, I'll just use that excuse too. Every tournament EG didn't place first was because they were tired and sick, let's ignore the games.

I'm not their manager or a VP insider or anything, I just thought it was pretty obvious when I watched the Summit finals. It struck me immediately, in fact, it struck me at the end of game 2 that VP was running out of gas

He doesn't "shine" as much as he used to because the team isn't built around him like it was when Fear carried, he has to play heroes like Bat, Nyx and Brew and if the game doesn't go right for him he doesn't have a stacked jungle to come back from.
EG wins half of the tournament they enter and get top 2-3 in the rest. Considering the competitiveness of the field right now that's pretty impressive. But someone has to be blamed for not winning everything I guess...

Yes each game got tougher for VP and then they lost. You say that's because VP was tired, he says it's because EG adapted. Who's right? Who knows...

Diavlo has it right , you should read what he writes .....

Hm... Arteezy is not in the Leaderboard anymore! Can you "hide" yourself from appearing there?

I don't think so, but if you're inactive playing ranked then you will not qualify for the list, no matter what your mmr is

he'll probably show back up after today's update

At least 15 solo ranked games in the last 21 days in the same division
Considering he was in China for quite some time I'd assume he just doesn't have enough games to show up atm. He should be back soon.

We need to vote for Trump so he can deport Sumail and MEGA (Make EG Great Again) + Show Spoiler +

Thanks for that goody, good interview. He seems to believe and i guess why not, that he is going to join any team he wants when he leaves.

With day 1 of Dota Pit in, EG is once again the favorite to make it furthest, outlasting Secret and OG.

Nice series between EG and Empire, could have easily gone either way.
