What?
This EG started with the farming meta. They basically created the hardcarry mid farmer strategy and ran it exclusively for months, and were definitely one of the teams to push the 4-core meta. It was still their go-to strat at TI3, and also why they lost to VG (stuck with the heavy farming lineup and lost against push).
They only went to the heavy push and deathball because it was so ridiculous during the previous patch.
If you believe the rumours, the issues are mostly due to them not practising. And if that's true, it makes sense that RTZ and Zai are the two players to leave, because they're the two that are still committed to high school.

The roster changes arent announced yet are they? Im seeing stuff everywhere and occasionally people are correct about whats happening, but it seems like they just get lucky since people are talking about every option

There is actual good sources that there's shuffles of at least 1 player for EG/C9/Secret, and RTZ said on his stream that he won't be playing for EG in china, but he will be playing with Zai.

That may be because both eg and alliance lol are getting name changes due to riot unapproval, so it may just be under a different banner

Why?
Well at least the doto scene is interesting again.

incoming months of confusing between Demon and D3M0N.

I hope so. I think Aui is really good fit for a greedy 4. I also really like his attitude.

I'd be really excited for a team of Fear/Sumail/Universe/Aui/PPD.
Might be enough for me to change my flair from Liquid until TL picks up a new team.

this is terrible. EG was the west's best hope for TI5...now...ugh...

this is honestly sad. i don't believe zai AT ALL was at fault. everytime i watch him play he is always consistent and reliable, his counter initiations / initiations are always on point....i'd be ok if this team lost arteezy but zai is pivotal.
i was on the arteezy hype train, but let's be honest he failed to meet any sort of expectation this year. there is no sense of domination from him, there was a point in time where he'd always beat the other mid player, but now he's barely capable of holding his own. even with farm he gets consistently caught out for overly greedy farm. there are better mids for the west guaranteed. its just hard to watch such talented mid players go out like this......just like it was with dendi...
on another note, not ok with aui....this team is starting to look like eg dota 1.0, a pure carry player roster or farm oriented team. i had high hopes for the sadboys, i really thought if they stuck it out and went to ti-5 they had a realistic chance of taking the whole thing.

tbh i think RTZ was playing really well this year. Idk why you think otherwise. At the summit Zai was by far the teams weakest link, and RTZ played really well.

rtz and Zai are both great, but if the Aui/sumail thing pans out I'm more excited than doom and gloom. EG was 5 great players, 2 leave, they still have the universe/fear/ppd backbone. It'll just be adapting to Sumail's style and nurturing him if they do go with him permanently.

RTZ has been miles better than zai since TI4. It's been him and Fear carrying the team to all their LAN wins in the last quarter of 2014
