Here's the final bracket with everything added to show final results. Enjoy! ![]() Thats a good call mate ![]() EG are looking real good, win in against every team. And the losses werent to bad either. I feel they go into the Main event with a draft advantage... zai and crit both so versatile. sumail, uni and rtz all on point it seems. SO EXCITED!!! :D Go boys~

I would say EG has both a mental and a draft advantage against Newbee, but Newbee are very skilled players, gonna be good matches ![]()

I think the bans will be very telling against Newbee; particularly Kaka's bans. I think his Nyx warrants one with how much he destroyed VP with it (Game 1).

i'm not sure if it''s a strategy (I think it's intentional) but i think going forward EG are attempting to make the draft highly ambiguous so the other team can't figure out who plays what role. it's an interesting concept but also risky. they allowed everyone to play a different hero in the same type of draft in the group stage. for example, one game you'll see bat rider bot lane for universe, then it's crit playing support bat. the mirana switch off as well. overtime both support oriented heroes in the past are now switched as carry roles (nothing new) but switched around with WHO plays it. it keeps the opponent guessing which i think is their new evolution. (PPD hinted in the past about how everyone should learn every role.) But on the other end of the spectrum, their pool seems more...limited....and their drafts aren't as strong...it's an EG draft but it's not a draft that's strong vs the opponents. i'm not sure if it's only me but it seems the west try to out think themselves in the drafting phase...and this meta it works against them. In previous tournaments relying on all time strong drafts got you in trouble for being predictable but now, this meta it has the opposite effect. At this point i wouldn't be surprised if they lost to empire...rtz hasn't had one game where i had confidence in him. it never crossed my mind in all his games that if shit hit the fan and he had time to farm, he would make up the difference if sumail failed or if universe couldn't pull off the big initiations. not to mention, i think this is the very first time i've ever seen universe die in the offlane in a 1v1 scenario. that's a really bad sign.

Sure, EG still saw red and got hungry when taking fights like the one forced in game1 vs Newbee under Newbee's T2 with song that were high-risk, but it happened less; and they usually had much more of a "lead" or margin of error. Of course replacing ppd in that respect is difficult, but I don't think it bodes well that they have never developed any consistency in avoiding this problem; and it cost them deeply against Newbee - on the biggest and most important stage of the year.
