either they balanced it badly, wanted more action by the end game or they balanced it for console players missing 10 shots for every zombie 🤔 It's a problem with a lot of RE games. The first major section or mansion equivalent is where it seems they dumped all their effort with pacing and open level design, then the second half usually devolves into lots of action shooting and linear levels. I also wasn't a big fan of RE2 Remake's lacking enemy variety, fairly weak boss battles, how uncreative the B scenarios were, and the story which felt very half-assed. Still a great game though.

either they balanced it badly, wanted more action by the end game or they balanced it for console players missing 10 shots for every zombie 🤔 Are you playing on standard or hardcore? I really like the remake honestly. On hardcore it can take up to 10 bullets to kill one zombie with headshots so ammo becomes a bigger issue. Eventually I started stunning and running past zombies in rooms i didnt have to come back to, and just taking out the legs of zombies (2-4 bullets) in rooms i knew i had to return to.
Standard mode can be blasted through but I think by midgame on hardcore + Show Spoiler +killing every G-Adult would be a huge waste of ammo that could complicate some boss fights

I played both standard and hardcore and yes hardcore is better, but still needs to be better balanced
It's a great game, really liked it but it really felt like 2 games in 1, first part real survivor horror, second part "here's some ammo and gunpowder, go nuts"
lovely game anyway

I think giving Claire a grenade launcher in act 1 was a mistake. It really makes her campaign a lot less spooky lol

The SMG was a pretty poor third weapon compared to the magnum in Leon's campaigns I have to admit.
|
Should have been SMG-->grenade launcher
Or even SMG-->spark-->launcher Flame rounds are clearly the best weapon in the game lol

The loot and hide is really hit or miss imo. It can work a decent amount, but a lot of the time you'll end up against a squad with gold armor and fully kitted weapons and be way out matched. Regen items can be especially in short supply if you're not taking out other squads.
Getting aim experience is tough for sure, but aim definitely is only like a nice to have compared to moving well and engaging well. One of the biggest mistake I know I was making- and still make- is just being where someone is already aiming. Like it sounds obvious, but people do it all the time by doing things like pop out of cover, then in, then back out. The game has so much freedom of movement you should always look for ways to come at unexpected angles. Especially in terms of things like vaulting over an obstacle instead of around. If you start an engagement where you're aiming at someone, but they're not aiming at you it doesn't matter nearly as much if your aim is terrible. Light weapons are pretty good at long ranges, but if they have any amount of armor you end up dumping your entire clip long before they die. That is why I like the prowler or wingman for close combat if I don’t’ have a shot gun.
But you are right that diving into high tier loot areas is a good way to get off the ground. Or going after care packages.

lmao a dota auto chess loading screen tip reads "tips: play some dota2 matches if you are tired"

This seems like a shockingly poor idea lol

its like 4chan except 8 instead of 4

It's like 4chan but with twice as many crazies

And way more child porn. Seriously, 8chan is so bad that a company wouldn’t want to be associated with the Wikipedia entry about it.

8chan is where all the Gamergaters who were considered too extreme and annoying for even 4chan migrated out to.
This tweet chain is rich. The PR head said "I personally agreed to this AMA without doing my proper due diligence to understand the history and the controversy of the site. I do not condone child pornography, white supremacy, or racism in any shape or form." I mean, how out of the loop do you have to be to not know what 8chan or what any of the chans are? Or at least do a cursory Google background search?

Currently watching Angry Joe's review of Anthem and holy shit, BioWare is dead

It isn’t looking great. I don’t’ have faith in EA to give them the time to work it out.
On the other hand, the reporting about how badly EA’s policies of using Forstbite for a game that it was not designed for and kicking the game out of the door early might present real problems for the management who wasted 5 years of development money. Because the reporting is that people were telling them Frostbite was not designed to make a Destiny within the first year. I’ve heard some rumbling that it will be very hard to throw the completely studio under the bus with the share holders. Especially with Apex taking off like a bullet and not using the Forstbite.
|
It was the same shit with Andromeda, they told them to use Frostbite and they spent most of development getting it to work for a game type it wasn't meant for. Apart from that what killed the game for me was the scene Joe showed where he finished a long grind and opened this tomb or sth and instead of something cool there was like one item there to loot and a few lines of description. If I'm going to grind for hours at least make it worth my time you assholes
|
You should read about the early stages of Andromeda. They wanted to do some No-Mans Sky shit, but use Frostbite and all the people who worked on combat and other things that involved tough coding were like "You high bro?" And then that imploded once they realized it was a terrible idea.
Like, you know they there is a jet pack in Andromeda? It is because they wanted this open world and travel system, but then didn’t bother to really plan how a big open space would change combat. So the combat designed went over to the Anthem people and were like “Yo! We have to design combat without cover, enviormental design or any ability to control where our player will go. So we need a rocking dodge and movement. Soooooo, how did you make your mechs fly so cool in this frostbite bullshit?”
Like the first discussion about making an open world style game like AC or Horizon Zero Dawn is how to make the combat cool when you can’t design restrictive environments. Apparently the combat team was just told to figure it out because that shouldn’t be that hard.

I'm laughing inside because Jacob Wohl, 21-year-old SEC lifetime pariah, Mr. Surefire Intelligence, and hipster coffee store listener, is also banned from Twitter after openly admitting he makes fake accounts for political bullshittery.
