I got dunked a few times, but the fight was doable once folks realized they couldn’t’ stay on the ground. I was in the air, just at the spider's height I guess. The insta down IS kinda bullshit though. And guns are worthless lol, powers are so much better in Anthem.

Apex Legends: I really enjoy the game, but my wife finds it frustrating due to the inability to practice shooting in any meaningful way. The tutorial is not sufficient. Also the lack of a third teammate is less than helpful. We have a buddy who can play with us, but he is like 15 years out of practice with 3D shooters and never played Unreal or CS. Which makes me the ringer of the team. Which is less than ideal. Sunless Skies: I'm getting into this game slowly and enjoying what it has to offer. I dislike how punishing it is, so I am playing on a mercy run to make sure I don't burn out. The entire framing of the game is fascinating and unique compared to current games. London killed a sun, so people built a new one. My main complaint in the game is it is a bit plodding at first. But it picks up once you get the hang of the economy and loop. A review for those interested: https://waypoint.vice.com/en_us/article/bjqyz5/sunless-skies-tells-its-stories-slowly-but-theyre-worth-the-trip PS: it really should come to Switch.

Also I'm considering reinstalling AL, I'm really craving some shooter action right now. Shame it lacks an option to practice with bots or sth, even just for shooting practice

Reggie is retiring from Nintendo and being replaced with Doug Bowser. Ten bucks half the reason why they chose Doug was for his name alone.

You can kinda learn the spray patterns a bit and get some feel for the guns or what gun goes with what name, but other than that it's such trash. I feel like the only real way to shortcut practice is to just drop hot over and over with a full squad and get some early practice, but then you run into problems like trying to play against a peacekeeper without body armor.

The main problem with this is then we have this frantic run to find a gun that often ends in my wife getting dropped and not having much fun. But it might be the only way right now.

Even if you find a gun you may just get popped by a peacekeeper if you don't also get body armor, but I've found those fights way more helpful than spending 15 minutes to get to an endgame fight where the high tier attachments can just pop you instantly anyways. At the same time though you also get to end up with great things like someone following you on a zipline over a out of bounds pit when you're out of range of their shotgun so you can kill them with a p2020 or having melee fights in a smoke cloud.
