Nice prep looks good, I’m contractually obligated to point out it should be Alaskan salmon tho. Hue hue hue
I made some flawless macaroons and some smoked salmon spread to put on crackers to take to nye party. Then I drank way the fuck too much but tbh I still fucking own at catchphrase when drunk. There was some girl that my friends were trying to set me up with there. Can’t trust your friends tbh.
Poll: on nye party how much more entertaining to light $800 us cash on fire then to set off 800$ of fireworks? Trying to convince my friends of this. I’ll put in the money for burning cash dont see the point of fireworks at all.

There is a fairly critical character conflict in 4 which was poorly developed though, that is better explained in V.
(But if you want my honest thoughts I'd just skip out on MGSV. I think every MGS after MGS3 lost the passion that Kojima poured into them and they just weren't as interesting or fun to play.)

i guess if it's really that bland i can skip it but im still hoping there will at least be the fundamentals of a really good game, better than most action games these days? i have no idea what modern games are worth buying tbh, open to recommendations
for single player i mostly play tactical/creative shooters like half-life far cry rainbow six etc also some rpgs but really only certain kinds, anything witcher/gothic or bioshock style can be good (never played infinite might give that a shot)

oh by the by I've been to my 2nd Ceilidh yesterday and it was magnificent!
The video I linked is by some random youtuber, but he doesn't talk much and lets the guy from the Edinburgh Ceilidh Club do all the talking and he sums up my experience with it pretty accurately.

It plays like a good Far Cry and with a creative mind you can find solutions in unconventional ways. It controls very well, the shooting feels fun, and the stealth can be good, albeit basic. I just wouldn't expect a particularly good MGS in its narrative, characters, and boss battles, and it is a fairly shallow game in its mission design and open world when you delve enough.
I'm sure any immersive sim is up your alley like Deus Ex and the new Prey. I could also suggest the new Hitman games for creative thinking and problem solving, though they aren't really shooters per se. You could give ELEX a try for the Gothic experience, but that game is polarizing as all hell.

i wish fish was cheaper, over the last 2 years or so ive grown to really like fish, tho i suppose atreides might earn less if fish was cheaper
but ye idk it generally doesnt have much of a fishy smell when it's a few at best but even if there is you can generally overpower it with herbs or butter or whatever, i usually pansear my fish with butter and serve it with hollandaise so :D

I liked MGSV a lot; but I completely ignored the story and I haven’t played any other MGS games.

In today's trashy politician news: Guy who serves as the president of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce with a Wikipedia page that is definitely written by a PR guy made this excellent tweet.

I would post it directly but the asshat deleted it just as I was going to, and I can confirm it wasn't edited. Some basic hors d'oeuvre and a $72.80 champagne doesn't exactly reek of 1%'er. Not to mention "Let them eat cake :-)" doesn't exactly tie in well with the whole top percenter thing. At least he was getting absolutely murdered in the comments with plenty of guillotine gifs and reminders that you can buy status but not class.

can folks post here about what dates work for them in march
I can do any time but march 29th to 31st, and I'm happy to take some time off from work for the trip.

I can't imagine a situation where it makes sense for a modern politician to say "let them eat cake". What connotation of the phrase is someone even shooting for when they write that?
