I'm seeing a lot of disappointed people saying how it's not Blade Runner and they expected darkness, or how it looks like GTA, Crackdown, Fortnite, or Saint's Row. I won't deny the trailer did look a bit too much like a GTAV trailer and the first teaser was far better, but I'm glad I got to look at a messy cyberpunk city in the daytime with the sunlight streaming out. It even had a glimpse at the different classes, the companies straight from Cyberpunk 2020 PnP RPG, and looks like a glam 80s rock inspired cyberpunk world, which it is supposed to be.

I can't say i thought it was too bright, as you say yourself it was just daytime with sunlight. If parts of the game take place during the daytime it only makes sense that that's a part of the trailer too.

a Bethesda game, always online (or so it seems), multiplayer and (probably) no bug fixes mods this game is going to be the biggest mess ever

Just in: The world of Cyberpunk has a day/night cycle. TBH I expected nothing and I think the trailer is fine as it is. Maybe it should have 2-3 more night scenes to prevent the internet from over-analyzing and drawing shitty conclusions. If the game is as story driven as Witcher 3 I am happy, even if it looks like GTA trailer now. I like it.

I know that from first hand experience. and as it's a highly polished trailer nothing is for certain. I do appreciate people talking about their first impressions though, because they can actually influence design decision of the team imo. So I think it's a two edged sword. On the one hand complaining about shit one just (wants to) interpret into a trailer, on the other hand making oneself heard to influence a possibly otherwise different gaming experience.,

People who dislike that trailer don’t seem to understand what cyberpunk is. Everyone remembers the Asian neon signs, no one remembers the oil fields on fire in the background. I need to see more, but the point of cyberpunk is that is commented on the social and political injustices of the era. Blade runner is a very specific 80s vision of the future that said something about the insecurities of the era. CDPR isn’t going to just regurgitate that vision onto a disk, they are going to make a story that hopefully speaks to modern visions of a dystopian techo future
