I don't regret buying it though, but obviously its a potentially valid concern.

Atreides' experience is what I'm afraid of - I have enough fun/gratifying shit to do that it probably wouldn't be high on the priority list.

Day9 is a solid gamer, has been playing for a few years, and is 3.2k. The only way 10 games is enough experience to challenge divine is if you played a decade of HoN / Dota 1 first. I recently came into an extra pile of cash that's just about nintendo-switch sized, but i can't convince myself that -this- console is gonna be the one that doesn't just sit on a shelf collecting dust. If BotW and Mario Odyssey is a real killer app for you and you enjoy games in that vein I'd consider buying it. If you aren't so sure you'll be engrossed for hours or find the time to play it outside of home, I'd just skip it for now.

Got 6 days to recuperate and get a bunch of stuff done before it opens again. I read like 10 pages tho and I’ll comment that I drink a LOT (64ozs minimum a day) of coffee both at home and while fishing. On boat I use either French press or pour over filter sometimes but it has to be nice weather for that. In emergencies/extreme weather/no time I use stupid Starbucks via packets which is only decent thing they’ve ever made and is “best” instant coffee I’ve had by a mile. At home I use a machine but grind it myself each morning. Three things you fish off. Food. Sleep. Coffee. It’s extremely common to give up one. (Usually sleep). Sometimes 2 and it’s awful. But take away all three for a couple days and I’m looking for the person responsible so I can pitch their ass over the side. So like, what's the situation regarding sleep on these boats? I get that it's a grind but how far can people get pushed before they become a liability to themselves and others out there?

If I wanted to make the call to sleep, I could but I'm a greedy bastard (or at least thats what he says) and sleeping straight up translates to lost catch. Slept ~4.5-5 hrs most nights than spent 17-18 hrs in rain gear each day doing fairly serious physical labor working gear/dealing with shrimp. Its awful tbh. Really, really awful. I almost made it the full 16 days, but on day 15 got up, made coffee and decided we needed to sleep 3 hours. It felt so fucking good rofl. But yeah, it's a balance. At some point the sleep shortage can get extremely dangerous and even before that there is a point where it can lose you money anyways because you arent performing at 100%. Not everyone can handle it. My brother is going to shrimp some with me later this season and I don't know if we'll be able to go so hard. + Show Spoiler + I am a fairly competive person, and this shrimp fishery is currently my primary proving arena. I am very good at it, and am willing to put in obscene amounts of effort. It's not even about the money for me, I'm phenomenally unmotivated by money, tbh it would make life easier. 33 boats participated in this opener, and we caught over 15% of the catch.

Nintendo 3DS: The You can play every Pokemon game besides the R/S/E/FR/LG Generation on this machine. Plus there are some other cool games too, if you feel the need to play them. Nintendo Switch: The Indie Machine Mario and Zelda are definitely overrated, but still good. That said, the biggest selling point of this console is that it's a better vehicle to deliver indie experiences than anything else. All the cool ideas at the forefront of design thought are being put to best use on a console you can play literally anywhere. PS4: The AAA Machine God of War is beautiful. Bloodborne also exists only this console. Persona 5 is also an important game exclusive to Sony. This machine is important to those who wish to be at the forefront of what the biggest games in the industry are doing. Plus, it's great with those 4K displays that your PC sucks at using properly.

How long do people usually fish before it starts getting too hard on the body? Are there a lot of old geezers out there or nah? What's your favorite food at sea?

What's your favorite food at sea? Lots of old guys, the "greying of the fleet" is a much talked about phenomenon in most fisheries up here. Average age gets higher and higher, and not a lot of young people moving into the fisheries. Usually they (60+) just don't fish as hard as they used to, and they hire younger guys to do the physical labor but just being on a boat all days for days on end wears on your body. People don't appreciate it, but literally just standing on a moving deck all day requires your muscles constantly compensating for the motion of the boat and your legs can get totally shot and you are like "wtf I was confined to a 20ft by 8ft area why does it feel like I walked 15 miles?" Im a big guy and I sat on my ass all winter and did very little and just being on my feet in rubber boots on a moving deck 18 hours a day was absolute murder. Poor little feets took about 10 days to adjust lol. Actually eat pretty good. Pretty big believer in eating two real meals a day, makes a HUGE difference. The funniest thing is EVERY morning when first get up I eat some plain greek yogurt with a bit of fruit and granola real quick while making coffee and waking up. Then work 4-6 hours. Then make breakfast (ya its basically lunch time) Eggs, some sort of breakfast meat, some sort of potatoes with lots of onions and peppers pretty much every day, vary the preparation some. Usually this meal is rushed as hell and I dont even take my gear off. Then work next pick, then maybe something light in the late afternoon/evening quick sandwich or often wrap up leftovers of breakfast in a tortilla. Then work third pick and after finishing working gear and dealing with shrimp its after 11:30 hopefully not 12:30 and make dinner. Always meat and vegetables. Rotate between red meat (wild game)/Chicken/Fish and just saute some veggies. Asparagus is my favorite but has limited lifespan on a boat, things like brussel sprouts/snap peas/carrots etc hold up better (onions man, always onions, eat insane amounts of onions). About half the time eat some sort of carbs either boiled little potatoes or instant mashed potatoes, sometimes quinoa or rice or something. It sounds like I dont do anything but eat, but food matters. heh. And these sort of "real food" meals really don't take that long to prepare but that is what eats up the other 1.5 hours of the day besides sleeping and fishing, the biggest annoyance is dealing with keeping/getting fresh foods but its worth the effort. I don't usually lose weight fishing haha. I lost about 8 lbs in these 16 days tho but that was just because I was over the high end of my normal weight range to begin with.
