Well “high lvl torment” doesn’t exist anymore. Any real build utterly crushes all torment content.
When I played on console it was original days with 4 difficulty etc and I did kill Diablo on inferno or w/e which was hardest content at time. Took many many days of attempts. I’ve never looked at console GR ladders but tbh a lot of modern builds would play ok on console. Like channeling meteor wizard the only handicap is not being able to precisely teleport I’d imagine. Condemn crusader doesn’t have ANY targeted abilities so no drawback st all there and those are just the two top builds. I’m sure some builds awkward but I’m confident you could casually clear GR 100 anyway on console by end of season even if it’s not scaled easier and I suspect it is.
Like I said though. Serious players play PC I’m sure like most games.

I mean in D3 the most advanced mechanic for "difficult to play" builds is managing skill cooldowns and paying attention to the Convention of Elements buff cycle. I can't remeber any build in D3 that is legitimately really hard to play properly and which shines only in the hands of top tier players.
|
Yeh its not that type of game. Difficulty is achieved through infinite scaling and in super high GRs its far more about general skill at running rifts (which there is a decent ceiling on imo) than at playing a specific build and ofc its mostly about the grind.

Things work a little differently mechanically on console, so it isn't just targeting that makes a difference for builds. On console, I ran a spectral blades / energy tornado build around tal rashas that functioned mainly because you can take a step or half-step while doing the spectral blades animation, and could cast energy tornado with no animation in that time also... so you basically ran around literally holding spectral blades and energy tornado, and could still move more or less freely while doing so. I tried to play the same build on PC and it felt suuuuper clunky and slow.

The game isn’t really dumbed down or made simpler, it just feels different. I’m sure there is some nightmare human that is going to play Monster Hunter World with a mouse just to be a god with the bow.

Don't consoles have mouse/keyboard functionality now?
|
Maybe. But games would need to build around it. I am 100% sure Capcom did not do that for MHW. Not that it matters, since it is all PvE and the only shooting is with the three ranged weapons.
|
you can use adapters, but the keyboard and mouse input will be limited by the hard physical turnrate present on a regular joystick
|
Mouse tends to emulate sticks on Consoles, is not really viable, pretty stiff.

I have fun with dark willow but is she really that OP, I've not been watching much pro stuff

But I actually thought they were gonna integrate mouse/keyboard with one of the consoles natively - or is that the next XBOX/generation?
|
I don't think they will ever do that.
|
People would hack shooters to use mouse and keyboard get an unfair advantage. Then the developers or console makers would need to patch around it.
You can use a Bluetooth keyboard with PS4. But only for typing.
|
I believe that's what I was thinking of.
|
You can use USB keyboards and mice for PS4 ontop of bluetooth. And you can use them for more than typing, it just requires the devs adding support for it. FF14 has full support i believe, for example. I think fortnite and paragon too? But i don't have a PS4 to check, that's just what i've heard.
Also you don't need to hack shooters, infact with stuff like XIM existing it's incredibly easy to use a mouse and keyboard on a console shooter although the controls aren't 1:1 what you'd typically get with a mouse, but from what i hear it's still a pretty big advantage.
Edit: you even have stuff like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tactical-Assault-Commander-4-PS4/dp/B00ZUNOSFU/?tag=gamespot-gl-21 Officially licensed by sony

That ruling is pretty reasonable, IMO. The kid was just being a dumb ass and the Judge likely scared the stupid out of him for at least a year.

Yeh I played a LOT of rapidfire DH on console and when I eventually had internet and switched to PC it felt so different i've never been able to play rapidfire really. (not that its good now). But because of that I personally think channeling talrasha meteor and similar builds would play great on console even though I havent played on xbox for a very, very long time. Condemn too.
But based upon my recollection the biggest thing about my current play in high GR that I can't see translating to console is the very, very many tiny distance blinks you do constantly to jump arcanes or just to chain stun since at least when I played on xbox it just blinked you max range in direction you were facing.
Is anyone else actually playing this season? Ive slowed down since my big 4 day push to gr100 at start of season, im like para 900 just casually solo farming towards endgame gear and augments.
|
How the shit do you have 900 paragon? I don't even have that on my non-HC that's accumulated from ~3 seasons of play. Although I've typically spent about 60 hours per season. What's it look like for you?
|
uhh. i played a LOT first 4 days of season. But with reasonably efficient but not extreme solo play you can get para 800 in ~50hrs. The only meaningful paragon xp comes from higher gr so getting a reasonable build together to do speed 80-90s (which you need to do shittons of for gem ups) carry you to paragon 1000 or so without "too" much effort. Much beyond that requires a lot of grinding which is farrrrrrrr more efficient to do in groups. This is all fairly relative ofc... I did 1100 paragon last season on HC I guess, 99% solo play. For reference 800-900 is about same as 1-800, and 1100 is about 5x the xp of 800. And yes, that means I am confessing to having 75 hrs played in first week of season.
You can leech 1-70 and 400 paragon in like 45 mins if thats your thing heh
Diablo is a game of efficiency and optimal time use, not skillful button pressing lol
