As far as i understood part of it is that some poles are angry at the term "polish death camps" because it implies/could be understood as though they were polish(made by the polish) rather than them being run by nazi germany in poland.

I'm sure one of our polish posters knows more.

I think it's an attempt at pushing away all the guilt for the exile of Jews from Poland onto Germany. With us being the single most responsible country for ww2, this doesn't seem too far fetched at all.
Though Germany has to shoulder the overwhelming responsibility, it'd be wrong to say that local populace didn't play a role in the extradition of Jews out of Europe after the victory over Nazi Germany.

Maybe that's what the ad is for, maybe it's just inner politics posturing under a common theme to distract from the real issues.

It seems like a law designed to limit freedom of expression. Laws like that are rarely applied fairly and are used as a tool to suppress specific viewpoints. People need to give up the idea that any legal system is applied fairly the majority of the time and assume that it will be abused if given the slightest chance.

Basically what Unleashing said. The phrase "polish death camps" appears from time to time in western mass media and every time some people in Poland lose their shit about it. It's been like this for years but now our government decided to launch a huge "educational" campaign about this issue for some reason. From what I heard it did more harm than good, especially when it comes to diplomacy. I didn't follow this idiocy very closely so I can't really give a more detailed story. Basically every time someone even implies that Poles killed or otherwise harmed Jews during WW2, right wing media and politicians go nuts about it because it contradicts their claims that it was only Nazis (or Germans) who did all the evil stuff. In reality there were numerous instances of Poles actively killing Jews (e.g. google "Jedwabne pogrom") or selling them out to the Nazis for money.

There is plenty of blame to go around in WW2. It extends all the way to the US and refusing Jewish refugees, denying the holocaust was taking place and having our own little Nazi party in the US. I don’t know why some folks in Poland think they are special on this subject. Well I do know why they think they are special, but their reasoning is the same bullshit that is being peddled in Germany about removing the Holocaust Memorial in the center of Berlin.

Yeah, the Iphone pretty much serves me up terrible ads all the time. I get so many PagerU(US conservative garbage propaganda) ads that I wonder if their system is completely broken. I sort of want to know what I did to make them think I would respond well to Ben Shapiro lying to me about discrimination.
