I throw some danks out there for the groans but I wouldn't call myself scary. definitely fair but not scary. I'd also like to think that the kids respect me in and out of the classroom.
as for being able to give out a zero, that's what we mean by "invalidated" - you get a zero and a "try again in august"
we grade the part 2's but the state provides us with scoring criteria and the scale used to calculate each score

I wasn't aware that it was a simple pass-fail affair. That's certainly interesting.

well its pass fail to move on to the next course, however your score affects your GPA and sometimes your tracking (advanced, regular, remedial, etc)

when i was 8 we had a male teacher with anger issues and he would always rage so no idea how he was a teacher for so long but anyway one day he got a hit by a football when he walked past the football field during lunch break and when one of the kids playing football came running to get the ball the teacher took it up and threw it in the kid's face rofl
so ya he obvioyusly got fired after that but damn what a guy tho

my middle school band teacher got fired and presumably jailed for something like that it was depressing as fuck at the time
