What are people thinking for an MMR cut off? Do people need to be a member of the site for a specific period of time? I don't think taking all comers is a good idea. | ||

u want to give them shiny emblems for 1/2/3 place so they stay around and post to showoff ithink If this is an avenue TL thinks could lead to successful community growth, it needs to be done properly by people who actually run this site (whoever that is these days). pretty sure we said that were just throwing ideas out some ppl even offer to help how amazing are we | ||

Edit: Well I think that the cut off should be somewhere. Maybe "is able to play ranked games" or something. Taking all comers is a good way to get a lot of numbers, but not great for quality or peoples enjoyment. | ||

This needs to be done 'professionally' by people with actual power to promote, organize and run. The official cups they used to run were really fun and the reward for winning was just like a custom cup winning title on your account so nothing big. But amazingly fun and then if you won a cup you would be a baller on the forums forever. | ||

atleast they have to be in on it it should be run like TLopens in sc2 preferably in smart timeframes, iirc tlopens were ran to test community maps etc. maybe in dota u can run a TLopen when theres a new patch or somethign else as prize there could be stuff like LD gold+a tshirt+an icon in ur sig or whatever should be advertised as a casual tournament (unlike gigabyte or eizo cups) maybe get some casters like heflatv to cover ro8+ thats how i imagine that working but who knows | ||

So I don't see how it would be any different in Dota tbh. | ||
