It would not be SKILLED based in the sense that the requirement to play and participate would be indicative of your skill (mmr entry barrier) but more of, all are welcome so long as everyone is kind. They could have taken a hard line approach with rules about flaming, abandoning, and general ass-hatery and really built something nice. I imagine a fun, casual, no flaming, strictly monitored in house league for the dota community (not just TL) would have really grown during that time. Liquid already had the reputation of more quality posting, heavy moderation etc., I think that kind of thing would have been a breathe of fresh air to most in house leagues that are skill based and insanely obnoxious. It's probably too late for that now, the fragmentation of the community to build stronger individual communities has certainly not panned out yet and there is little to nothing being done to actively build the LD community from the Staff. Maybe with enough time and dedication they could still pull something off but I wouldn't hold my breathe. | ||
