society is shaming them for their own good!!! I am just against treating people like shit. Call me old fashion. Plus its like super not effective at changing behavior. Sure, everyone should be treated the same and you shouldn't treat people differently because they're fat. But likewise they shouldn't be given special treatment because they're fat either, like i've read the most idiotic posts online with obese people complaining that they have to buy two seats if they want enough space for themselves at concerts and that they should recieve discounts.
No, you shouldn't, if you're so fat you need two fucking seats you have bigger worries than having to pay for two seats. I don't treat anyone fat or anyone obese any differently though, i don't mock them or make fun of them or anything.
But i'm not going to accept the idea that not finding someone being deadly obese attractive is just me being brainwashed by modern beauty standards. The fat acceptance thing has some really stupid people behind it with some really stupid ideas.

at least some of the feminazi hate is being redirected away from my glorious manhood and toward their own kind

I don't see the point is categorizing your hate to specific groups. Most people are worth hating so just hate all of them.

Maybe its the second funniest thing. The "We are shaming them for their own good" really is the funniest.

I even specifically said that i had read it online with an obese person herself complaining about it, so i think i made it clear that comment wasn't about any of those women.
All of those women look like their BMIs are within 'healthy' levels, so obviously i'm not. I don't think any of those women are obese or even fat.

I didn't even quote the post with the women in that picture, i have no idea of how you got the idea that my comment was in regards to them.

im too lazy to figure out how the topic of the ad moved onward to the topic of being overweight, but its proven that being overweight has health risks. i don't think its acceptable to say "its okay that you're fat and don't want to do anything to change it"
pointing out that someone is overweight is not shaming someone for being fat. maybe i feel that way bc my intentions for saying so would be different than someone else's, but i mean..i dunno, the whole "you're beautiful just the way you are" thing is sorta retarded IMO.
being unhealthy is not beautiful to me.

Is anyone here really dumb enough to think that people who are over weight are not fully aware they are over weight? Please to not reply with some mythical tumblr example, like real people you know that are real.
Will you ever have cause to point out to someone that they are overweight like they don't know it? No. So maybe the fat shaming people talk about is not that.
Seriously, I love how the discussions "We shouldn't fat shame because its really not helpful." always turn into "NO! I should be able to tell those fat people they are fat because they might not know it!"

i don't think its a matter of people not knowing that they are overweight. though, sometimes weight gain sneaks up on you and telling someone that you love that their lifestyle isn't the healthiest is important because you care.
i think its a matter of overweight people not knowing that they're damaging their health.
ultimately though, i think that this movement of "you're beautiful no matter what" is an attempt to relieve the cognitive dissonance associated with having it pointed out that you're overweight and suddenly the bubble that you live in is popped. like..that's the reality. you're overweight. if you want to feel good about yourself, then do something to change it as opposed to justifying it.
(wanna point out that i do not think that you need to have a stick figure body...please do not twist my words into that)

i think that basically sums up what i hate about this movement.
i'm glad for you that you feel beautiful. that's wonderful. but what YOU think is beautiful is not what OTHERS think is beautiful and if you want to maintain your lifestyle and continue to be overweight, that's where the cognitive dissonance comes into play. your view of yourself does not match up with other people's views of you.
and that's where the need to alleviate the dissonance comes in and personally i do not agree with it.
but people are gonna do what people are gonna do and if they enjoy shortening their lifespans, so be it.
fuck i can't wait to get back in the gym when my ailments are healed now lol

I hate gyms myself honestly, i could never ever in my lifetime get used to going to one. Running in nature or biking through the countryside is my source of exercise. That or swimming.

here's the thing about the health insurance debate tho..some people hate paying for other people's unhealthy decisions, but personally i would rather them get healthy. if they don't have the money to do so, they'll continue living like shit and potentially shorten their life spans which isn't cool.
