Either way - its a waste of time and it just feels awkward the entire time. The cocaster is always like "well...he was out of position" "OH IS THAT WHAT HAPPENED THERE EH?" like jesus its awful.

I'm not a big fan of merlini either he's almost as bad as draskyll when it comes to forming immovable opinions about how a hero should be played or itemization
at least it works out cause he's right like 80% of the time

I really dislike casters that shit on players builds or play during a game, even if it is passively. The casters are fully aware that the player can’t do shit about it until well after the match and if they do, they look like a whiner. It just comes off as this stupid need to show that you are smarter than the player.
I like Merlini and Dryskyll on the analysis desk, not casting.

The few times i've gotten to listen to a pro player just casually solo cast a game on their stream it has mostly been some of the best commentary, there wasn't much hype but the quality of insight was off the charts.
Dota needs good pro players retiring into casting.

ppd's casting is really good actually - i like hearing that guy actually talk about dota.

I like it when Fear casts games because he has that good, dry sense of humor. Idra was pretty good at casting too, if you wanted some no-nonsense information. My favorite Idra quote was when the co-caster asked him what he thought of the terran's build: "Oh, he is dead in 4 minutes. The zerg is going to A-move banelings and zergings into his base and the game is over."
And it happened just like that

Keep in mind that if you don't have like 2k hours in dota you can't actually tell the difference between Capitalist's "insight" aka random idiocy and Kuroky/PPD's brilliant knowledge that makes you go "whoah thats so right".

i don't like capitalist's casting voice but he is a 5k+ player who doesn't make as many egregious gameknowledge errors as the likes of odpixel and maut
on the flip side, sunsfan is my favorite 0gameknowledge caster because he never ever pretends like he knows something he doesn't

PPD has the best consistent stream for watching and learning the game.
Not too many others do that though. A lot of the other pros go for pure 'entertainment' during their streams which I don't really find all that interesting honestly.
How is S4? Does he talk about the game as it happens?
