He has some dumb mantra that he says over and over that is some vague ideal he desires to live up to. Ladies like him for some reason, even though he isn’t funny, has not real goals in life or aspirations and maybe he is good looking. His only redeeming trait in this seems to be that he is at least proactive and has good banter with Rin, but that is about it. He could leave the show and I would give zero fucks. He's like top 5 of my most hated anime protagonist of all time(along with MC from Mirai Nikki as another example). He's also the very reason why i fucking loved Fate Zero so much and i hated FSN most of the time. but for some reason there is just no way he can't be included like if this was other action anime i won't actually give a shit about the mc.

The Servants in Fate Zero were way more interesting that their masters in that series. Like, even Saber’s master was this like soulless cipher driving, again, by some ideal. Every character was either defined by their relations to family and that was it. That is one part I like about the new series, as least Rin and emiya are active characters that do things, rather than stand around.

I like VNs, it's a pretty decent medium for story telling. The solution is to just not skip anything, if you feel like skipping something you're clearly not enjoying the story ![]() I also feel like shirou gets a lot of shit for things like "People die if they are killed" when it made perfect sense in the context it was said in.

Yeah and it even gets better that it's not actually good vs evil but rather clash of ideologies. Idk maybe in real life i would but i really dislike honest and martyr characters in fiction just in general. I can't help but think they are stupid and i just get mad at them. There are some exceptions ofc. This is probably why i complain alot about fictional stories.

Outside of maybe the one EMIYA THE JACKHAMMER scene. It's just the typical loss of internal monologue and thoughts that are lost when you go from book/text to a moving medium like anime or live action, which helps make shirou far more bearable, especially throughout UBW. That's just my opinion anyway. 2006 anime was a shitty adaption but ufotable UBW adaption is pretty damn solid so far.

Although fate zero is fucking awesome.

Archer was the realdeal anyways and Berserker should be other realdeal but he threw he got emo.
