The game is SO GOOD and so beautiful. There's these amazing diesel-punk miniatures and illustrations. The gameplay is also great. I also bought the digital version and played a bunch of games against AI there. Really satisfying and flavourful. Board games are so amazing nowadays, I love it. Terraforming Mars is also amazing, but I like Scythe better, the production value is nicer. I also have my eyes on Gloomhaven, which is supposed to be the goat of board games, but the gigantic size of the box kinda intimidates me, to be honest.

Scythe and gloomhaven are both cool Scythe in particular is very good at fulfilling the 4X fantasy

China on Tuesday morning unilaterally passed a new national security law for Hong Kong, according to the South China Morning Post, a move that experts say will further erode the semi-autonomous city's waning freedoms. According to SCMP, the law was unanimously approved by 162 members of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, Beijing's top legislative body. The outlet said the legislation, which has not yet been made public by China, is expected to carry a maximum penalty of life in jail. www.businessinsider.com

Or discouraging the other guy from attacking by having a lot of workers on a tile. Combat itself is not a huge part of the game, surprisingly. But yeah, the actual combat is 'just' the wheel and combat cards and plays out similarly every time.

I brought it out of whim(saw it on steamsale) cause it seems like something like nwn, icewindale or baldurs gate am i wrong ? I found it to be a lot of fun. The combat system is very much in the style of the old infinity engine games, so if you liked that part of BG2 you'll feel at home. I think a lot of people didn't like the setting, but I actually loved the fantasy carribean/polynesia mix, meeting and dealing with pirates, traders, local tribes and sunken ruins, and I especially found interesting how every faction you can side with is morally egregious in its own way. The story itself ... well, it's good, but not as good as the setting. It's not poorly written, but there kind of lacks a sense of urgency to it. In BG2 you can spend as much time as you want mucking about after Imoen has been taken, but in the first playthrough I felt compelled to go to the island as soon as possible, and I didn't feel this urgency in PoE2, which isn't bad because the side content is so good.

That's it, you can now feel good about yourself and pat yourself on the back that you are making the world a better place. Bigots destroyed. sanctimony. it's typically extremely taxing and exhausting to be around people who's identities are comprised of 'activism' or 'social justice' not that either of those things are bad, but if you want to do something good, it should be because you think the thing itself is good, otherwise it's purely for your own ego. it's like donating money to charity just so you can brag about it on Facebook. as I use Tinder nowadays I immediately swipe left on any girl with 'BLM', 'Fuck trump!' or 'Pro trump' etc. in their bios. It's all just so tiring and I don't want to hear their oh so nuanced and refreshingly unique take on random bullshit that's being talked to death. I certainly expect anyone that I'm with to believe that black lives matter, and I don't think I'd consider dating a girl that is pro trump, but when your views and moral standpoints become part of your personality, and one of those most important traits of who you are, regardless of if your view is right or wrong, are you doing what you think is right because of the reason behind it, or just because it gives you attention and some special feeling of sanctimony?
