Yea I think that was before they even released Advent Children. I've been one of those people waiting for years. FF7 was the first game my parents got us when we got our PS1 back in the day, and it's what I would consider my first intro to JRPGs.

Anyway the remake is incredible so far. I can't even get mad at some of the ridiculous side quests, since the game just looks so beautiful that I don't mind running all over the place. Also they've somehow made Tifa/Aerith/Jessie absolutely perfect in every way, so I no longer know who my favorite is

Idk. I have no nostalgia whatsoever for FF7 (FF6 and Chrono Trigger, on the other hand...) so I prob just won't play the remake, but part of me is amused if the shutton-of-side-content actually made it through to the remake.
