Well, the switch finally added the option to map buttons. So I can swap A/B to match other consoles. I have the afternoon off, trying to decide if I want to play DQXI, Valkyria Chronicles 1, or SMT:TMS:FE (tokyo mirage sessions ... perhaps the worst possible take on an SMT/FE crossover, but I still want to play it).

Why are there no MMR decay or whatever in dota? Quarantine has brought back alot of players and its obvious some of them are very rusty. Like it's hardly fun for them or their teammates to get stomped for alot of games when they return. Just feels weird a game like dota doesn't have it, while alot of other games do.

mmr decay in some games that tried it before like SC2 were pretty awful, idk why anyone would want that system when you can just play unranked till you think you're ready to jump back into ranked. It sucks for the teammates of those people but w/e it's usually just one game lol

SC2's decay was just way too fast and happened to everyone regardless of play iirc.

There's a huge difference between "hasn't played in two weeks" and "hasn't played in three months", like I haven't. There either needs to be decay or an option for loss streaks to accelerate MMR loss. My mmr 4.5k, if I went back I doubt I'd be above 3700. That's something like 32 losses to get to an accurate mmr.

The 6 month seasonal reset is probably the best compromise, but Valve hasn't been very reliable about having that happen on time, to say the least.

dota doesn't change that much, it's just one game when you are looking up new items or map changes and get a hang of the hotkeys

and there's no point on taking action on EU since every other game has a boosted or boosting account anyway
only thing that has made me consider tryharding a bit for a higher rank

Not massively, but you can lose 500 mmr in 10 games instead of 20, iirc. That's about it.

Every time I start playing a new game and read some reddit/watch some youtube content about it, I learn that it's "broken" and/or "dying", that players are leaving etc.. Dota 2, Path of Exile, now Destiny 2. It's kinda funny.
