Only if you play the game yourself. You can't really fully enjoy Dota2 without at least basic knowledge of the game while many claim you can SC2. I personally only watch SC2 if players I like play, and there's less and less of them around

Indeed..Even while playing DOTA 2 can be incredibly Frustrating to play too....Having to play out long drawn out 45 min games when you know you have already lost the match when the enemy Carry is fed to high Heavens by the 20 min mark.. Plus I didn't understand half the Terms and Abbreviations and Items used in DOTA upto my 50th game...I've played 200 games and I'm still not sure what 50% of the Items are used for.

Yea I think it's far better than SC2 but I think SC2 is shit anyway and I played it for 2 years. Just kept wanting it to be as good as BW so made myself believe it was instead of seeing it for what it is. People think dota is like it was years ago and pass it off instead of actually seeing what it is today. The games themselves don't take much longer than FPS games and decent rts games either, it's the stuff outside the game like always starting late that makes them longer.

SC2 and LoL are probably better for the uninitiated. SC2 is easy to see since units are introduced incrementally and none of them are very complicated. It is easy to see what is going on, generally. LoL is much slower paced and probably a bit easier to explain. BW and DotA are probably better to watch for players though, since everything tends to be more dynamic and there is a lot more subtlety. Not to mention that there are lots of things that pros do that the average player cannot do. There is not much like watching Fantasy's mechanics after you struggle through doing the most basic of builds correctly.

You need to play the game before you are able to follow it a bit, but that is just the nature of the game.
