I am slightly confused reading this, apparently Ham posted something on behalf of jD, then deleted his posts.

Ham was actually flaming the joindota mods. Funny if they made him delete those posts, but so far since the first accusation NO ONE from joindota has pretty much said anything despite being so eager the first time around, not even when people called them out on their own forums for censoring hilger.

Anyone else experiencing single draft producing much better games?
Might just be on my mediocre skill level, but you don't wind up with 4 carrys in your team normally and people actually discuss potential picks. ^^

SD is more or less the same and can be worse because some idiots couldn't play most heroes but still decided to play SD. Nowadays MM is like putting you in cw games. I feel so damn tired to play mm without a full stack.

The past two days I've played a bit with Sneyking. Maybe 10 games or so. Then a couple of games with Weppas and a couple with Aui.. But I usually solo queue a lot more than this. But it's fun and a good challenge playing at the highest mmr. My own MMR is right below the very top, so I only get matched with the pro's once in a while.

Hi guys, I'm pretty new to DotA and I've been enjoying it, for the most part. The biggest issue I've had is that in literal 9 out of 10 Humans vs Humans games I've played, someone has left. Am I experiencing some exceptional bad luck or is this consistent throughout the matchmaking?
Also do you guys have any suggestions for melee heros laning vs. ranged ones? I.e. I was playing Nightstalker and someone picked Invoker and was able to zone me pretty hard with autos and ranged spells

It happens from time to time, but generally gets better when you get better MMR

Your options when playing melee vs ranged are always limited. A few things which help out:
Make sure you have enough regen. One salve and one tango is standard, but if you're up against an harassing ranged hero, you might need more. Don't be afraid to use the carrier to get you some regen items if it's not taken and you need it. Another good option is to get a shield, though I think it's pretty rare to build it on Nightstalker. Another thing one can try is to be aggressive. Some ranged heroes are very squishy and if they dive the creepline to harass you, you can jump them and trade favorably. If this isn't enough, you pretty much have to be content with staying back and trying to at least get xp and snipe last hits when you can, some nice creep control to keep the creep line under your tower obviously helps a lot too. If you're playing with friends/good players, you can always call for a gank.
I think Invoker is a pretty sweet counter to NS in lane though, Invoker is a ridiculously strong hero and if the player is good, you'll have a hard time punishing him.

Against a range hero with a melee hero, just right click the range hero and when you draw creep aggro walk back, should bring the creep closer to you

as someone already said you have to play around with creep aggro. the most important thing is that you realize that NS does not have the same role as invoker in mid. you need to control runes and gank while invoker can sit in the lane and farm up

Mirana is absolutely fine. She could see play if the top-picked carries/semi carries (morph, TA etc.) were toned down. There are so many heroes that need buffs more than Mirana ^^)
