Just sold my defense courier for $250. May have been a bit of an undersell seeing as they are really rare but im not really in the trading scene so im happy. Personally I didn't even like it that much

I presume you're new to Dota then, because hell yes. He was first pick/ban material a couple years ago.
I should've been more clear. Has Meepo ever seen competitive play in more recent metas. I know he was a top tier pick years ago, but to my knowledge he's since dropped out of favor.

I thought Icefrog's intention to remake him was prior to his surge in popularity in the Chinese dota scene. I'm not sure Icefrog will go through with his plans to remake TC unless he shows himself to be completely broken, which doesn't seem to be the case.

best follow up on that is rod of atos for the decent survivability and pretty good int increase + a surprisingly effective slow nothing else you could want on a caster
except maybe veil, that item is grossly underused, but it should probably be your next item cuz it amplifies all your magic dmg, why dont more people use this sicknasty item
after that i recommend travels for quick gank support
though by that point you've already won so just get battlefury

Rhasta is not primarily about magic damage. Why don't you just a medallion instead.
I got a medallion once on rhasta because my team was going to roshan soon and the other 4 heroes were saving up for carry items, and they started flaming me for doing so.
But then again, I get flamed for half the games I get necrobook on lycan.

How do the Chinese play TC? Solo mid? Sort of as an es countergank? The only game TC game I've seen was kuroky, and he was trying to do this weird carry build.

I play Dota often with my Taiwanese friends and their playstyle is very similar to the Chinese (if you think this statement is false, then say so kindly.) TC is usually picked as a ganker/semi-carry, and is sent to a duo lane to either harass with Ancestral Spirit, or use his Stomp to allow teammates to get in a nice position. Tauren Chieftan will often get a Battle Fury/Orb of Venom/SnY to add to his HP, physical damage, and attack speed.

Solo mid is the most common, followed by solo on the unsafe lane. Items are like arcane boots + mek with BKB. When TC is picked together with ES, it's pretty deadly for teamfights.
This is a game where they just used TC to stall out for AM's farm:

huh. all the recent games I've seen of Chinese DotA where TC is picked up he's usually put solo mid. TC is a great laner with Ancestral Spirit. They usually build him tanky a support-ish build since he already does tons of damage due to Spirit and his ulti.

Does he mean in tournaments? If that's the case, then I'm not too sure :S I thought he was talking about pub games and the general style between normal players. Sorry about that!
abit late to the party, my first game of dota was on dota2
I choose BS because he looked cool, went mid because everybody say that's where I should go, give up first blood, ended up 3-18-15 with Tranquil boots, stout shield, Ring of Aquila, Crystalys and Wraith Band.
surprisingly, not a single abuse. Just 1 guy telling me to 'dont get balsy' when Im getting low health.
Damn. I was hoping Meepo would be out for TI. I have a feeling that some teams could cook up some spectacular things with that hero with the amount of practice and discipline nowadays.
Why would you go orb of venom? Does the spirit proc the slow?
Mek/bkb's a pretty weird item combination.
I'm a little surprised they can dedicate a solo mid lane to TC against very dangerous carries like DK, panda, ck, TA. By which I mean they must really think he can do a lot.

IIRC Chinese teams consider TC to be an incredibly strong pick against DK. DK relies a lot on his survivability lategame in order to get his full usefulness in fights, but TCs aura is incredibly powerful for putting DK in a position where he can't go all-out because he's not quite as tanky as he'd like to be.
As far as laning goes, TC is quite a formidable laner. Particularly in melee matchups, Ancestral Spirit is extremely powerful, both in letting you farm, as well as in harassing and trading with the opposing laner. Ranged matchups can be somewhat less comfortable though.
That said, sidelane TC seems to be a fair bit more common than solo mid recently.

it's mostly for teamfight. bkb is there just so he can survive and make sure that he can just aura the other team, also spirit gives a lot of bonus damage for not much at all so his right clicks arent exactly doing nothing while the other team is in aura.

the next couple of games however ......
I hate people like you who can't play at least 2-3 bot games before playing against other people.
