In fact, if they have a strong offlane duo that crushes your carry while their safelane freefarms 2v1, the game can go really badly really quickly without them ever setting foot in your jungle. It just feels too much like a "well I hope none of these things happen or we're boned" option, no matter the skill level. Except jungle lycan. He's always appropriate because screw that hero.

They're more often 2-1-2 rather than 1-1-3, and that means there's immediately more pressure on the jungler's carry than the enemy one. And a trilane won't particularly help with that, because players lack the coordination to be able to kill the 2 from level 1 onwards and the experience deficit will get really painful really quickly. The formula of "strong pair of heroes" is simply strong in that format regardless of whether or not there's a jungler. It's honestly just as easy for the offlaner to be playing a hero that can go kind of crazy with just a bit of space afforded, like Timbersaw and Weaver, and end up winning the lane 1v2 thanks to the bonus experience. Lord knows I've managed it.

The formula of "strong pair of heroes" is simply strong in that format regardless of whether or not there's a jungler In my experience, having one trilane support who knows what they're doing is good enough to win the lane against a dual the vast majority of the time at 2k MMR. And by 'win', I mean all three trilane heroes end up with more experience than either dual lane hero.

Slahser is doing pretty cool guides on youtube. This is his safelane critshaker. He goes boots, basi, blink, treads, armlet, crits. Also his voice is just so calming it's kind of weirding me out. :D
