Team chat has been done in eSports for a decade, it wasn't even nearly the first time in Dota when MLG did it. So stop calling it fucking "turtle beach" shit.

I disagree with the decision, I wouldn't think Valve would ever do that to be honest because it's a minor viewer experience improvement for a major player inconvenience.

It was done at DH Winter CS:GO major though, with dedicated stream and mic 100% of the time. Doesn't have nearly the same impact in CS as in Dota though.

Been that way for ages, you don't need to equip them now, just have in inventory (and yes, this means you can support multiple teams at once).

Putting teams in a situation where they have to make a sudden choice between either putting themselves in a high risk of exposing their train of thought to other teams or artificially limiting their strategy pool or themselves during matches is such a dick and casual-oriented move, this might be the first time I'm genuinely stunned by Valve's decisions. That said, they pretty much completely ignored the TF2 competitive scene ever since the game was released, so my hopes are being shattered here.
