CM isn't going to do that for me, as much as I love her. I need to spend some quality time with veno, he seems really good, but also slow as fuck. Does not matter so much as your auto attacks and wards slow and gale is an insane slow so your speed evens out. Also if you need to go carry make sure to try to get your Poison on everyone after ulti so you can get kills even if they run. Gale+Nova so good.

She is slow as dirt, made of glass and food for almost every pubstomper in dota. I have had people insta lock SB the instant I picked CM. I love her to death, but your better off with a veno, tide hunter or OM.

The key with CM is that she can develop a solo tempo early game. Tide can't do much but farm, OM needs to have a partner to dual roam and neither can contribute in lane very well. Any hero is strong if you snowball the game hard enough and get kills, and CM has much more unconditional killing ability early game than any of those heroes because she's a strong laner, a strong solo roamer, and farms levels in downtime much faster. If you didn't do shit in the first 10 minutes, then yes she's food for a lot of those pubstompers, but playing CM well enough entails the potential to win the game before any of those heroes ever become dangerous to you.

SB is super easy to deal with though. You're the warder so you can place the wards in places that give you vision of charge. And IIRC you can frostbite him to break charge.

Tide can turn a team fight around solo and needs no help doing it. He also can farm early game when everyone on my team is a potato that is to scared to fight.

Go to for all-around purposes: Disruptor, best played in the 1-1-1-2 setup. With 1 jungle, 1 offlane. When we have a lineup that benefit a lot from extra mana regen (like Jungle Doom) to increase their farmrate a lot: CM With Slark: Wisp When we have another support that could form a decent trilane: Earthshaker If we have Cent/BB offlane and already another support: Lich to duo offlane. When we have a very reliable stun carry, like Sven/WK: Witch doctor and max maledict first. Lvl 1 Stun. lvl 2-3 Maledict. Just stun maledict, WK stuns and guy dies. When we have a hero that doesn't die very easy safelane, like Weaver I pick greedy like Rhasta/Silencer or at few rare occasions warlock. Safelane potm: Bane, but works with a lot more heroes. I just don't find the hero very fun unless I can get easy kills. SD/Visage/Veno whenever I feel like it, rather than for making a strong combo. Notice how I haven't talked about the enemy team yet. Because counterpicking fucking sucks ass and it doesn't help your team. Only two times I "counterpick" is when they have fun spells to steal (Rubick) or very high mobility heroes that require lockdown (Lion) Maybe this list helps someone? I'm 5.5k support only soloqueue player.

In Magic, sets of new cards come in blocks, each block has three sets. Every couple of months a new set comes out, always one whole block a year. The most popular format is 'Standard', which is the 2 latest blocks. Then there's 'Block', which is just one block, 'Modern' with roughly half the cards and 'Legacy' which has all of them. There are tournaments in each corresponding format. This system allows Wizards to do amazing stuff with the meta of the different sets. I think this would be really interesting in Dota. Let's say IceFrog released 40 new heroes with the next version and made them the new standard, then released 10 new heroes every two months and rotated it like that, they could do 'reprints' when they put old heroes back in the pool, etc. I guess the draft would also have to get changed somehow, probably more bans in legacy, maybe less in standard, etc. You wouldn't really need to care that much about balance, because by the time the standard got figured out, it would start rotating. And in the legacy pool there would be so many heroes that hopefully the new ones wouldn't fuck everything up, especially if there were more bans in that system. The meta would constantly be fresh, and there would be more variety with more formats. I mean, this is probably entirely unrealistic just for the fact that making so many new models and effects for the new heroes is impossible. (although with steam workshop and valve's army of 3d artists everything could be possible :D ) Also IceFrog alone would probably not be enough to make and balance all the heroes. Even in Magic, they develop new sets 2 years in advanced with multiple design and development teams, the last phase is ex-pro players testing the cards and doing power level tweaks to the cards. It's really fascinating reading about it. I don't even know where I was going with this one. I just like thinking about stuff like this and wanted to ramble about it for a while. this is one of the dumbest ideas i've ever heard lmao i cant count how many times i've heard a friend/pro asks "what the fuck does this hero do again" whenever a new one is released. I've also asked the same question multiple times. the game is already ridiculously nuanced and you want 40 new heroes each with their own mechanics to be released every cycle? even 10 every year is kind of ridiculous, I'm completely fine with the way icefrog has been adding them to the pool On June 14 2014 03:01 SKC wrote: Maledict WD is one of the funnest heroes to play as well. There is also something to be said about Shadow Demon as well. Though you must know how to use him properly or else you're a liability.

The laning phase with him, for me, is so difficult because everyone expects me to lane with them when I just want to roam and help guard runes, etc. Then I never get blink ):

![]() Tide sux at roaming, his slow is "meh", its hard to get anchor smash damage off and he BADLY needs levels. PS i'm not sure what ur guides say but I think the current way to level tide is 1-1-4-1 into 1-4-4-2 so that you can do ancients and are super ultra unkillable. Obviously if ur maxing anchor smash that means u should be farming waves/neuts/ancients (once u have enough points in ur passive).
