Anyone that I know who plays league complains about this. But they also say that dota is a much harder game as a result and that last hitting is tougher, especially with denies.
Personally I wouldn't have it any other way. The punishing aspect of dota makes it much more complex to me than league which is what I find fun.

I have better idea. Give report option for users who dont speak the same language. Like say you queue english only, but spoke spanish ingame. You should be reported for abusing language options.

I saw a post on reddit similar to this. A couple comments suggested that people who were reported answer a basic question in English (or whatever language) to prove they spoke the language that they queued for to prevent abuse.

even if it is all a sham thats ok with me. Getting the "action has been taken against some douche you reported two weeks ago" message always makes me happy.

My God, his setup fucking strained my arm after 1 game of League of Legends (I had to play for him while he was in a call, don't strike me ): Now my right arm is exhausted and my left arm is normal. It's really annoying That's an oxymoron, league only takes 3 clicks. space, left, a in a lane. AFK rest of game. Now now, you gotta cast all those poke spells because of low cd and low mana cost reminds me of a cs pro that played league on his spare time and one of his favorite aspects of the game was the low cooldowns "it just allows you to do so much more in the game" "makes the game very fast paced"

Well cs if u die ur out till the next round which can be kinda boring, and even when ur not dead u often spend a longass time guarding some angle or another and basically just waiting for baddies to walk into ur crosshair which is also not the most amusing.
Don't get me wrong I love counterstrike but its not really a low-downtime game.
|
well I was actually just trying to point out how myopic his statements were you can have a fast paced game even if your spells take a long time to cd. likewise cd doesn't stop you from accomplishing objectives because there are different ways to play the game.

Dotas main feature is it's high risk reward nature of the game. Abilities like black hole make the game and can lead to the highest high you can get put of a competitive game.
Also, you can get stompped because you carry didn't know how to play safe or get tinkered into the ground. The lows of dota are a hard for some people to handle.
|
Do u really get tinkered at ur MMR?
That hero's actually the most obnoxious thing ever but I always assumed that was when it was good players on it.
As in, I can't off the top of my head think of another hero that, as soon as he shows a lot of skill like 5 mins into the game, makes me think "well we literally cannot win"
|
What's up with people from dota 2 lounge starting conversations by going "Sir" 7 out of 9 have done that so far.
|
I only get terrible tinkers at my MMR. I played viper recently and destroyed an enemy team because they couldn't figure out to run away until my BKB wore off. It's mind blowing that these peoe have played over 150 games and still don't know how things like mek work or that heroes like viper and clockwork should get it.
I'm really thinking of just abusing heroes like viper and Lycan until I am out of sub 3k MMR.
|
I don't know after i had played 150 games of dota 1 back in the day i was still complete and utter trash tbh. Like maybe 1k MMR kind of trash.
Obviously it was a lot different back then, not really any easy way to follow a competitive scene or watch streams to learn.

Competitive scene was much trashier back then too

It isn't that different. There is so much going on within this game that at 150 games, you are still finding out aspects of the game you didn't know about. You're still discovering hero combos and subtle aspects of their abilities that you didn't previously know.
For instance, at around 300 games, I discovered why MoM was a great item on spirit breaker. His abilities basically scale with movement speed bc of how his greater bash dmg is calculated from it. I previously though that it was just bc of the bonus dmg from MoM active.

It's pretty likely that you wouldn't even necessarily have seen every hero played yet in your first 150 games, honestly (unless you're the one deliberately playing a game with every hero--which I wouldn't really recommend).
|
It's not like you can expect everyone to watch competitive games and there is no easy way to learn item builds in the game.

Yeah, it has changed, but people are still dumb founded by simple concepts like "drums good item" or yell at me for leaving lane when I am support. Last weekend I tries to set up a smoke gank with a bane. It took longer for him to come to me and move out than it did to attempt the gank. We go there, he walked up, popped the smoke and brain sapped the mid, who promptly walked away. I was playing CM and never even got a spell off.
Since I can't make these players more knowlagable about the game, I just have to try to escape without them. There isn't much point to practice a support like a bane when my team mates just nightmare themselves when we set up the gank.
Edit: I don't think I am amazing, I am just discussing changing the way I play to deal with my MMR. I don't think trying to emulate pro level supports is helping me win games or get better right now. I think I need to focus on learning to carry a team of potatoes to victory and then get into more nuanced stuff.

Smoke ganking is not exactly a concept that low tier players can understand very well. There's only one way that they will getc better though, and it's by trying it for better or for worse. But you cannot expect a pub to have that level of coordination.
If you have a better understanding of the game than another player, it would be a good idea that you take point and make sure that you're the one to initiate.

You will just lose your way back to sub 3k like almost everyone else that does this.
