All the turn based japanese RPG's never captured me.
It's the difference between being slow for the sake of strategy or just for being fucking slow. Pokemon was just fucking slow. And that's most of the jRPG's I've played. There might be a lot to some of them, they're still slow and repetitive.
I find Pokemon to be faster than JRPGs like FF9 to be honest

well FF9 was the slowest in the whole series tbh
btw still have iceforged spirit and invoker ponytail to dish out

FFX could possibly be 9:30 or so but I don't think anyone is insane enough to go for the Djose temple skip

10 is amazing. People are idiots and don't understand that the laughing scene is SUPPOSED TO BE BAD.
The only flaw is how repetitive the combat is after the Calm Lands

7>10>9>8 for me.
Tho all of them are pretty freaking awesome.

i dont really like 9 that much,6 and 10 are by far my favorites

I was super into the minarures game Warmachine in my 20s and played it tons. It was like war hammer 40k, but all magiktek and steam punk. They are now making a computer version called Warchmachine tactics and it looks dope as hell.

I don't know how well those games translate to digital though.
I never played warmachine but at least as someone who was very into warhammer fantasy (and dabbled in 40k, but didn't really enjoy it as much as fantasy), I think if you take away the sense of building your army, ownership, getting together and talking about the game, looking over the battle-field with your notes and books. Then it's just another PC strategy game.
I mean look at all the 40k strategy games, they're pretty good games, but they're nothing like tabletop because presumably they couldn't make that interesting on PC.

They seem to be trying to make a virtual table top. The game will likely be cheap or even free to play and you buy armies and units like you would the table top game. The game is point bases and Warmachine always has some very solid basic units. It also had a ton of expansions, so there is a lot to get.
I just liked it because it had giant steampowered robots that fought with huge hammers.

It makes sense. Even though I don't think they would be as good as the originals, warhammer fantasy and 40k would make perfect "free to play" games as well. Considering it's turn based and the actions are fairly simple you could even make it work on tablets. You pay for units/colours/whatever.
They probably don't want to do it because it would de-value the physical game though. Same as why magic hasn't done anything that's more suited for digital than magic online, which costs the same as offline. (duels doesn't really count, duels is just like a magic demo)
