What's up with the report system? I have 45 reports of the the number just keep increasing. Do I get a new one every single time someone I have reported gets into low-prio, even if this is the third time they are punished since I reported them?

You get 2 per week or some shit assuming you spent at least 2 per week, plus you get back any successful ones I think. So if u report well u build them up.

Didn't icefrog patch right before qualifiers last year?

More or less yes.

Yeah I was just thinking about this. It would have made sense last week or the week before. We're getting really close to the qualifiers though.
If it does come, it won't be anything amazing. Just a medium sized one to bring some heroes into line and maybe throw a few more into CM.

I thought the patch dropped right after the qualifiers. It seemed like everyone qualified and then has a couple of months to figure out cool shit to do with the patch.

Yeah I thought after too. Everyone had about 2months to get accumulated to the new patch prior to TI.

Are teams allowed to pause as they like in dota? This has baffled me since I started watching pro games, it's not at all as in SC2. Doesn't seem to matter how delicate the situation is - the pause is still allowed.

More people, more problems.
But in general the dota community isn't strict about anything, like pausing, being late, allchat, whatever. Probably because of how long the scene existed as a very small "underground" community in regards to eSports.

I hope it may last a lot longer like that, but it's already fading away day after day.
Thanks to this new fade and flavourless "professional esports" :-(

allchat is cool but random pausing is like pub level shit when that guy thinks he's being clever/funny
the lateness is ok to an extent but i guess fans have gotten used to events that start 15-20 minutes late

Well the pausing in pro games isn't random. It's just that there aren't rules so people are going to pause over small shit. And they don't need it to be approved by an admin before they pause.
I don't really care, I'm fine with it. I agree with the guy above, I like my Dota to be lawless.

Na'Vi single-handedly double tournament stream viewers. I feel like they should start charging an appearance fee. Though I suppose they do well enough that there's little difference between "prize money" and "appearance fee" lol.

I am split on the pausing in games. One part of me doesn't mind and then I saw the player with super sweaty hands and his dumb napkins. It was like 1 pause every 10 minutes. But I don't mind pausing before a big push or team fight, a song as the team can only do it a limited number of times a game. Just like time puts in profession sports.
