That only really works if you're smurfing. Good luck not ruining a game with a roaming void against a trilane and competent offlaner.

Being able to judge how the game will develop over the next 5-10 minutes is a skill that the majority of pub players are not very good at.
DK wasn't very good at it either

In most pubs that will suffice, honestly, if you know how to play the different heroes. And he wanted something to break his bad mood, so he'd enjoy normal sq again, and I think getting a "break from reality" does just that. The void roam was the absolute worst example, but whatever.

Sad, but true.

Yeah, most pubs can sustain a fully roaming alch/veno/earthshaker , or silly dual lane mids, or heroes built unconventionally (CRYSTALYS MAIDEN GOGOGOGO) without being the sole determinant of the outcome. The skill differential in pubs would almost always overtake the build quality differential between a Crystal Maiden that chucks iceballs of pain, or the crystal maiden that plays her standard role.
That said, that only applies if your team is willing to work with you in your intentionally inefficient build choice. Which is basically never the case in pubs.

The key to enjoying pubs is realizing the only one you can entirely trust is you and you only. I don't mean it in a "fuck my team"-kind of way, but more to see it like it's 5 players with a sort of similar goal, rather than one team. There's no point in getting irritated at that guy because he didn't play the way you thought he should have, or that other guy for not building that item. Don't assume that just because you randomed or picked a hard carry someone wants to babysit you, or just because you picked 4 really farm dependant heroes the last player feels like playing that 6th role.. Just try to strike that balance between what you feel like and what is appropriate or necessary for the game, figure out what your allies' and enemies' gameplans are and work with what you get.

there was a pro that said the reason why midas is good was because of the attack speed on supports.

If i want to win i play a (hard)carry right click hero, if i don't care i play something that is actually fun.

This is the single most important thing. And you'd be surprised how many people will be willing to do so if you actually say something.
Just tell the team what you're doing. Do not silently pick CM, wait until your team picks around the obvious support, and then announce that you're going mid and "We need wards!" at the displaced storm spirit.

Typically reliable gold is gained by killing heros and objectives. Unreliable gold is gaind by farming except when you use midas to kill the creep.

He was explaining why it was counterintuitive for Midas to give reliable gold, when it's used on creeps that normally give unreliable gold.

isn't that one of the perks of Midas?
