Or that really abusive 5-stack that 4-man Roshes while the 5th doesn't pick unless they get the Rosh and leaves if they don't. Some actually do this because they see someone who they flamed last game back onto the next game on their team... Funny how this happens often. You play with or against the same 2-3 players (sometimes even more) from the last game | ||

At least the MLG tourny is doing something to alleviate this but it will likely just get plowed over by pro stacks anyway *shrug*. Seems like Korea is the only developing scene right now. | ||

There's a lot of mid level competitive dota. Just not North American. Starladder, Eizo Cup, and the North American Dota league show(ed) off plenty of teams that didn't get into TI3. Teams will always look to change/improve when they can. All TI and this time of year does is make it so that there is a sort of 'offseason' for this to happen. These changes would happen anyway, it's just because of the roster freeze that this ends up happening. | ||

I mean, if you look at sc2, all the playhem weekly tournament has never take off in NA. We tried to make it work but the scene just dont have the will to get pass the skill curve that they are 3 years behind compare to the rest of the world(by that i mean avg skill level of entire server, not top pros). The only good thing about the NA scene is players tend to try harder to obtain the win, which is also a negative effect on the casual scene as a whole. | ||

MLG having a steady series of NA tournaments means a Lower tier American scene will form. provided the tournaments are run well. its not about breeding the servers, in which case NA isn't really even far behind europe they are roughly equal in pub skill. its about breeding the semi pro teams. | ||
