On a serious note there's one thing I'll never understand when it comes to people improving their play regardless of the game (for the most part). A lot of players can sink thousands of hours into the game and still not "get it", in the sense that total amount of time you invest in a game does not always equate to skill. I know progress is unique to everyone and how one person can become better at learning a game at a faster rate than others. ---- Experience is important, the large majority of active pro players today are easily recognizable as competitive DotA1 pros (even if they're not, they still admitted to playing it) but we see a ton of new faces as well. Players that have experience playing wc3 dota does not necessarily mean they're automatically superior to players that started from DotA 2 even when the experience helps. There are small nuances to the how DotA2 plays, some interview from pro players even noting how drastic things changed when using the source engine. | ||
