If you added bounties to illusions either it would be too low to matter and people would ignore the bounty and the gold over time wouldn't matter to the team receiving it (gold is gold, but you understand what I mean I hope) OR it would be too much, and manta would no longer be picked up (unused items are generally a bad thing), and PL/SD would be picked even less than they are now (and let's be honest, they aren't picked that much atm.) well , that argument can be made for every kind of bounty. of course you have to find the sweet spot.

All heroes share the same bounty system, only familiars, spiderlings and the bear have bounties (that I can think of off the top of my head), and you see how much adjusting the bounties of those have decreased the playtime of those heroes. Why would you want to do that to MORE heroes? Unless you just don't enjoy them, and want to see them played less. But look at the rate druid has been played (outside of AB) in the most recent patch, and look at BM as well (hell, BM is one of the least picked pub heroes in the game because of the increased bounty). Naga is played slightly more, but again mostly by EGM, other teams weren't picking it every game. Again, why would you want heroes not picked every game to be played even less? A mentality of 'nerf everything' is a lot less enjoyable than what IF does now concerning balance.

Again, why would you want heroes not picked every game to be played even less? A mentality of 'nerf everything' is a lot less enjoyable than what IF does now concerning balance. it is not a nerf everything mentality, just in some situations , like manta tower siege or lategame pl splitpush , there is no risk/reward anymore. there is no risk , and that is not enjoyable.

Its just how it works, and while lots and lots of changes also could work, they wouldnt really add anything.

Bounty on illusions is just another of those things that wouldnt really add anything. I mean, it definnitely COULD work like that, but it would hardly just instantly make the game better in any way and would require lots and lots of rebalancing. So theres just no reason to add it. I mean, why is there 5 jungle camps and not 4 or 6? Why is there an armor debuff component on desolator and not an another item instead? Why can u buy a blink dagger but not a ghost scepter at the side shops? that is actually the first solid counterargument deliverd. the game is currently balanced in a way that illusions not give bounty. that creates some unpleasent situations. is it worth the hassle to rebalance things? maybe , maybe not. i agree on that point.

Also, there is a risk, if you're out of the fountain there is always a risk.

I'd assume it is because it is based on the lack of bounty for illusions in WC3. They're also unlike the golem or spirit bear in the sense that they take something like 300-350% damage from attacks, they're meant to die rapidly and easily. Sure you can argue that spiderlings and familiars aren't the tankiest creatures, but they still have stealth and invincibility mechanics, unlike illusions. So if you're going to keep the current mechanics in place and only add a bounty, for something like PL illusions you'd have to add a ridiculously low bounty to keep it fair, and at that point, why even add one if it is so low? and illusions can carry stuff like radiance burn and truesight, they are not inherently stronger or weaker than treants , spiderlings or even the spirit bear. Also, there is a risk, if you're out of the fountain there is always a risk. yea , but thats what im saying, we want more risk. risk is entertainment , risk is exiting to watch. so give illusions risk.

More risk would merely produce more iG vs DK games where no team wants to force anything since they know it's way easier to instantly lose than it is to win. You need mechanics in the game that allow you to win when you have an advantage. we have more than enough ways to win with an advantage. thats what aegis and tier 3 items are for. the fact that there are so little comebacks prove that. iG vs DK game was a product of both teams being scared out of their mind because its 1 million dollar on the line. this has no relevance to the issue of bounty for illusions.

Edit: You're supposed to win when you're at an advantage. That is what the word means. You don't make winning teams in sports events play with one less person. PL is not an early or mid game hero, if he is the reason you're losing then it's most likely late enough you can't come back.

And tbh, I don't see the point of having them to begin with, especially when its based on entierly different systems than the performance rating. All it does is give people more reasons to not let you pick a hero you want (just got told I couldn't have mid because "all ur best heroes are sidelaners"..when in reality I play soley mid for my team when we play cm >.< Makes it kinda hard to practice my role when people wont let me because of my wrong profile)

I get he doesn't bring much to a trilane, and he can't offlane by himself. But with some of the imaginatively laning we got to see, its hard to see why he was only picked once during the entire tournament.

He seems to me like the perfect counter to any "big aoe" heroes like magnus, enigma, tide, etc. As you can just stand outside of range and toss your ulti after they do. Not to mention he makes it a lot easier to breach T3, because, like I said, you have a big aoe that can cancel any of theirs and/or stun their whole team, and the golems are really wicked strong. I get he doesn't bring much to a trilane, and he can't offlane by himself. But with some of the imaginatively laning we got to see, its hard to see why he was only picked once during the entire tournament. The game is more about splitpushing and skirmishing than big teamfight 5 man stuff. That's why heroes like puck were a lot more successful than mag/tide. The enigma is slightly different because he offers a lot more outside of his aoe. Warlock is similar to tide but worse support, worse mid laner and worse skirmisher.

Split pushing and avoiding fights seem to be the perfect way to play against Warlock, so to me it feels like the perfect tournament not to pick him. Perhaps when the meta turns back into more teamfighting and big AoE heroes he won't be such a rare pick. Those big AoE heroes you mentioned weren't really the stars of the show.
